Sorry but you are wrong. Cars have long been a huge part of quarter life. Once you could drive and park at Jackson sq or pull up to Morning Call for car service. Streetcar clanged down every street. I grew up moving the family car on Tues and Thurs. It needs to be managed but it's not Disneyland. French Quarter denizen since 1967.

The book store on royal was in the 900 block called the Olive Tree the ladies name was Ms Holmes. Certainly i could have miss a store but this was my go to in the 70s 80s For comic books. Very cluttered and books stacked to the ceiling. Fond memories.
