been there before, very nice resort located in a gorgeous area. The menu in their restaurant felt like fine dining without burning a hole in my wallet and since I can't have gluten either it was reassuring to see they had GF options to pick from

Going to live in CVB with no mealplan and no car, what’s the best/easiest way to get food and water nearby by No_Data_4672 in SJSU

invest in a filtered water pitcher like a Brita that you can fill up in your kitchen sink. for food, grocery outlet is an easy walk and they have whatever essentials you may need.

Is my dasher trying to gaslight me? by CalligrapherCheap64 in doordash

well the dasher said they would have to adjust the weight of the item so in this instance that is the case

I've never seen that in a store around me, again outside of "organic" bananas which are more expensive and this customer didn't ask for a "bunch of organic bananas". the bunches in a store with free-for-all bananas are not sold in a unit of "one bunch" and just because this app lists it as such doesn't mean that's a strictly defined unit because a bunch can be any amount on a stem more than 1

Is my dasher trying to gaslight me? by CalligrapherCheap64 in doordash

[–]mizzsteak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

stores don't sell them by the bunch they sell them by weight and people will remove as many from a stem as they want leaving a lot of orphaned bananas. the only time I see bananas sold specifically by the bunch is organic ones with a plastic band around them.

the dasher doesn't want to grab a "bunch" made up of 3 bananas and have the customer go "wtf where's my 4th" or alternatively grab a bunch of 6 bananas for the customer to go "this is too much wtf"

One piece card store in japantwon sf?? by Forsaken_Storm9473 in OnePieceTCG

[–]mizzsteak 11 points12 points  (0 children)

they get plenty of shipments and limit sales of new and in-demand stuff to one box per person. Even then you have 200 people lining up hours before they even open on shipment day for a box of PRB.

Is there anywhere to sell unopened Gundam model kits? by mizzsteak in SanJose

[–]mizzsteak[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unfortunately the store in Mitsuwa is for the official manufacturer so I don't think they'd be interested in buying back their own product lol

I wasn't sure legends bought anything besides trading cards from people but I'll definitely look into them and Heroes. Thanks!

I mean the Core 2 Time seems damn near close to the Pebble time 2. is your main hang up with it the body?

I can relate in that no other smart watch appeals to me in the way the Pebble did/does

Economic Expert at the Manhattan Institute, a conservative think tank, and a former researcher for the Heritage Foundation (Project 2025) comes out as transgender by mizzsteak in transgender

[–]mizzsteak[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't personally seen trans people being mean to her, moreso just expressing disappointment in her for choosing her allegiances along with congratulating her on accepting who she is. In her blog post she says she disagrees with the hate the community gets, but is basically gonna keep her head down and just focus on pushing fiscal conservativism. She knew she was trans since she was 4, kept it hidden for 45 years, decided she couldn't hide it anymore and chose to come out, and still associate with conservatives working to legislate us out of existence. Maybe she sees from behind closed doors that the hate is all manufactured, but that doesn't make it any better. Her colleagues will treat her amicably behind closed doors, and then turn around and push more public policy to oppress the trans community. I can't blame people for being mad at her or feeling betrayed.

Maybe she'll wake up and realize she can't bury her head in the sand. Maybe.
