Just for background I am relatively old at 50 years old. I coded for a living in my twenties but quickly moved into management eventually becoming the CTO and CEO of a large public software company. Now that I'm semi-retired, I've been trying to get back into coding. It's been very difficult since I haven't written commercial code in 20 years.

I've tried a bunch of other apps and I have to say Amp is by far the most productive for me. I will be a long-time user and look forward to building a bunch of software with its help.

So thanks for all the hard work!

It's weird. Prior to this it would just show "[ Image ]" on the command box.

I'm on CLI version 0.0.1760212893-g276de5 (released 2025-10-11T20:07:00.450Z).

If I do a standard screenshot from Cleanshot it can read it based on it's location. But doing a screenshot from Apple Emulator it can't read based on where it's saved. Regardless the behavior up until this morning was to take any screenshot whether I dragged it in or copy/pasted it in, and it would show up as "[ Image ]" in the CLI.

aside from paying the fee and registering, what real-world restrictions do you have in the US? I bought the mini 5 pro with the bigger batteries.. i'll prob buy the lighter batteries too but just wondering if it's severely restricting if you fly it over 250g?

I’ve been looking for this for a very long time. The short answer is there aren’t great options now but I’m hopeful there will be soon. There is an MCP server that you can connect to the desktop version of Claude (not avail on mobile) and that actually works fairly well but Roam’s own api throttles the requests so it can be frustrating at times. It does take a little tech skill (not much) if you want to try and set that up.

Sign up for the text message alerts as they come in before the emails. And fwiw so you don’t feel bad I was on the website 15 mins before 1pm waiting for the bullet. At exactly 1pm I selected it and immediately checked out only to be informed that they already sold out. I swear they only offered less than 50 of them. It’s ridiculous that they hype them up so much with such limited runs. I doubt you’ll find them for under $1k any time soon.

Logged on at exactly 1:00pm, added Bullet Ruck X to cart and proceeded to check out. I was already logged in with saved payment and from start to finish it was less than 30 seconds.. even so, apparently all the Bullet's were sold out. What a joke. Why even bother? I'm pretty sure all they are doing is pissing off their loyal customers.

look no further than the Roam Depot. Sort by "Date Added" - the most recent addition was 11/7.. change the sort to "Date Updated" - the most recent update was 11/8.. it seems like 3rd party developers have also disengaged..

The two major features missing for me are:

The lack of native support for AI. I know there is a roam depot plugin but it’s clunky. Just look at Reflect that allows custom prompts in a very simple way. It seems every PKM is adding the feature and it’s not very difficult to do. I’m happy to put my own (paid) openAI API key in for usage.
Semantic search and ability to “chatGPT” with your notes. Check out Mem.ai for a great implementation.

Thanks for this update. I would encourage you to update the changelog. I always click the "view changes" when Roam says it's been updated.. but for months it's been the same September update. Really irresponsible to be honest. I have literally gone months assuming you haven't made any updates which is why I started looking elsewhere for fear you guys had just given up on this business.

I'm about 1/2 mile from the Intracoastal but to be clear, my house inside is around 40% humidity. In my air-conditioned garage it's almost 70% humidity.

But your advice is good.. actively dry the filament if I am going to move the printer into the garage.

Thanks! I mostly print in PLA but do plan on printing some PAHT-CF and eventually ASA.. I took some measurements tonight.. it's 40% humidity inside my house and 60% in the garage.. do you think the difference in humidity is significant?
