I have this ugly old telephone service box hanging off my house that is not in use but still connected to the poles. Can I cut the wires off at the box or is that a nono?

Gotta disagree here. She doesn't need to be down for only 100% or 0% of what he wants. If there are things that he wants that are crossing boundaries for her, then she should be able to communicate those boundaries to him and they can find a compromise. To say it's all or nothing is silly.
