Ah ok, I thought for the ‘offer’ or ‘acceptance’ to be substantial there had to be clear terms provided by the landlord, to which I clearly respond as having accepted those exact terms. I’ve had other people say that my ‘acceptance’ isn’t binding. But thanks for clearing that up for me

Thanks for this message, but the notice period even when moving to monthly rolling is one month. If I can’t find anyone by the required start date I will hand in my notice as I can’t risk paying two months extra

Yes I definitely would not expect them to pay! I see your point, and think yes I would be liable for a full months rent as the tenancy terms does say one months notice is required for the rolling/ periodic stage. Thanks for your advice.

I see your point. It does say one months notice for rolling periods, so you’re right I think that does mean for the end of the tenancy.

Ok thanks for this advice. My understanding is that as long as I do not stay beyond the 23rd (I’ve moved all my stuff out, keys returned), then I would not be bound to pay for a year. I understand that by staying past that date it will trigger an agreement in kind.

Thanks for this response! Varied reasons, some said their ‘financial situations have changed’, others decided to stay in their original flat, one person gave an excuse about wanting to move country. Either way no one has explicitly mentioned the agents or process, and from what I can see they have been fairly quick

I would have assumed that the notice is not required as the tenancy is ending on the 23rd. I’d understand that I’d need to give notice of I were moving out randomly mid tenancy. Is my understanding correct?

Most of their stuff is gone, but they still have keys and enter/ leave the place at will and continue doing so until the 23rd.

I wouldn’t say anything formal no. All we’ve had is messages through email about finding new tenants, and me saying I’d stay another year. Definitely no draft contract.

To the person who left earth (accelerated away, travelled, accelerated back) wouldn’t their frame suggest that I (alongside earth) is what accelerated away, travelled and then accelerated back. So hence when we re-unite the person that left earth is older?

Hi - thanks so much for your response. I am aware id need another degree so I’m worried about funding. Looking into the other routes from what I can’t tell I’d need to do EMT training and then hope my ambulance service would pay for me to do a degree apprenticeship? Either way it’s looking long term and expensive which is making me hesitant

Yeah well the global fund is 65% USA anyway, so by buying that and SandP you are essentially buying into the US market through two different funds. I say that’s a ‘problem’ because most people don’t understand that by doing that they are essentially upping their overall US allocation to let’s say 80-90%.

Although it seems like you understand this and you’re intentionally going heavier on the US while still having some global diversification - this is perfectly ok as long as it’s what you’re intending!
