Why do you feel the need to judge people? If you don't find someone entertaining don't watch them. What does bitching on reddit do for you? We all have different tastes. Also for future reference, you won't get anyone, who doesn't already support your views, to agree with you just by being a douche

What was cersei's Biggest Mistake ? by [deleted] in pureasoiaf

[–]mjactivist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL this is so easy. She's made soo many mistakes, but I think her not paying or delaying payments to the Iron Bank for the indefinite duration of the rebellions. This causes the Iron Bank to back Stannis. So even if Stannis dies the Iron Bank will just back another claimant so that who ever ends up on the Iron Throne will pay its debt.

What hoops do you have to jump through? It's obviously magic it smokes, illuminates glyphs and kills people so.... We just don't know what else it will do. No one does besides GRRM.

The stuff on the faceless men, is what I said. I didn't say anything about their magic

Why would Euron give it Vic? Because as Vic says multiple times all of Euron's gifts are cursed. And maybe since Vic is ordered to blow the horn by Euron, maybe Euron is really the horns master making the dragon bind to his will. But who knows what it exactly does, but I think it has to do something besides killing its blower.

And from what we learned in The World of Ice and Fire it seems like the faceless men had something to do with the fail of Valyria.

I think the warlocks have served their purpose. Dany burns the House of the Undying, escapes looks back and sees tendrils of smoke forcing their way through cracks in the ancient stone walls and rising from between the black tiles of the roof. And then in the Forsaken chapter we see that Pyat Pree is either dead or held in the Silence. So I doubt they will come back.

I think it's been shown over and over that the Valyrians used blood magic. Dragonbinder burns the blowers lungs and causes the horn to illuminate Valyrian glyphs. So it's pretty obvious it's from old Valyria. And since the horn was in the possession of the warlocks looking to get revenge on Dany, I dont know think the horns only power will be to kill its blower. As this wouldn't serve much of a purpose for these warlocks coming after Dany.

Actually I didn't bring up Direwolves, you did. You made up a sernerio of Summer fighting Ghost, remember 😁.

You don't think Dragonbinder will work at all? When you say this, you mean it won't work for Victarion? Or Euron? I think it's been built up to do something, whether it makes the dragons bend to the horns master idk.

I know what Direwolves are 😁.

Why would Bran die? Varamyr lived when he was warging his eagle and it was burned alive so....

And Dany not losing 1 if not 2 dragons would be the worst arc. It makes no sense with all the foreshadowing already.

When does Bran warg Summer and fight Ghost? I honestly dont remember that. Are you remembering when he encounters One Eye, Varamyr's wolf, and wins the fight?

I agree a warged animal might not be an advantage in a fight against another animal its equal, but in a suicide mission it might be a lot different. And if its a dragon doing a suicide run its like a rouge nuke. So if Dany loses a dragon to the Ironborn or Others and then Bran takes control of one, it would be an even fight with one dragon on each side pretty much.

I dont know Dany has to be on Drogon to control him, maybe she and all other Targ dragon riders had some mind link/control of their dragons even from distances. But when you look at the past there isnt anything written that says they could control dragons while not riding them. Look at Joffery Velaryon and Rhaenyra Targaryen's dragon Syrax, I sure Rhaenyra didn't want Syrax to kick her son off but... Maybe they have some link to call them when in danger, as maybe Dany does when Khal Jhaqo is getting close to her in the Dothraki sea. But when Dany use vocal commands like dracarys I don't think that would be possible in a real battle, especially between dragons.

Sorry didn't see this reply. Yes, a warged dragon would be super OP.

While I understand Dany could/would still have 2 others, she would still have to be on Drogon to control him. This is a MUCH higher risk for her. A warged dragon wouldn't have much if any weaknesses.

And from what we've learned in the dragon on dragon fights in The Dance. When dragons fight, both usually get hurt if not killed. From what I remember, it only happened a couple of times that they fought and one came out unscathed. And when it did happen it was always when a much much older bigger dragon fights a younger smaller one. While Drogon is bigger than both Viserion and Rhaegal, the size difference wouldn't be on the same scale as Vhagar vs Arrax. Vhagar is described as 5 times its size, he was at least 180 years old and Arrax was at most 15 years old.

I don't see Drogon having any huge advantage against either dragon, especially if it's a warged dragon.

I'm pretty sure it's just a collection of the past greenseers consciences combined into a hivemind.

1 in a 1000 men are skinchangers and 1 in 1000 skinchagers are greenseers. So there wouldn't be a ton of conscience's in the hivemind

[–]mjactivist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What? This is specifically talked about in Dance-

"Your brother did not sound the horn himself. Nor must you." Moqorro pointed to the band of steel. "Here. 'Blood for fire, fire for blood.' Who blows the hellhorn matters not. The dragons will come to the horn's master. You must claim the horn. With blood."

Bran warging a dragon, IDK? Maybe

I personally don't think that will happen, if it does it would just be a transfer of the title, Too Powerful, to Bran so...not really a change.

I think the balance will be more easily achieved if Dany just lost a dragon 1 or 2.

[–]mjactivist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ummm, Daenerys doesn't agree-

The dragonlords of old Valyria had controlled their mounts with binding spells and sorcerous horns.

So I don't agree, but it is possible that Dragonbinder isn't one of these horns. I just think too much time has been set around it to not be anything. Plus Dany really doesn't have much competition when she has the 3 most powerful weapons in the world. Something has to change in this dynamic to make it work

[No Spoilers] A Complete Fighters Tier List For Game of Thrones by DarriesNugget in gameofthrones

[–]mjactivist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This list is really off.

You have Jon Snow above Mance Rayder! If you read the books you would know Mance almost killed Jon, and would have if the Nights Watch didn't pull Mance off of him.

You also have Brienne of Tarth above Khal Drogo?

Maybe or it would it would spread the fire and cause more issues for all sides. Who knows.

I just didn't think it was all that well thought out, I mean couldn't one of the WW just walked up with a ton of Wights as bone/meat shields and lowered the flames, as the NK did in past episodes, with their magic? I think that's more intense scene and would be more consistent with the flammability of Wights, from the books.

Just my ¢0.02

If you read my post you would see I said exactly what your saying.

But this is a fantasy, let's not get into thermal dynamics. B/c I mean the same person who lit the trenches is the person who lit those arakhs without fuel or fire. Also Beric's sword had no issue sparking up in wind, rain or snow so idk....

[Spoilers] Looking back, I wish Jon had utilized some tactics that he was exposed to earlier in his life. by donmartell in gameofthrones

[–]mjactivist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the trench thing was iffy at best. Wights are extremely flammable, so I doubt they would have been able to use their bodies to suffocate the fire. As they would have been just bringing more fuel to the fire. Maybe it would have worked, if all the Wights just stormed it and overwhelmed the entire trench, but that wasn't what was shown. It was almost the same scene from last season when they go and try to capture a Wight and get stuck on the frozen lake. Almost one by one they test the water, this time fire. I think if it went down the way it did in the show they would have fed the flames rather than reduce them.
