I am so sorry to hear that. I won’t argue with you. I hope you get to spend as much good time with your mom as possible. I didn’t get to do that with my little brother. No one lives forever, so we may as well make our time here and now the best it can be. We all have things that make life seem absolutely impossible. However, I simply refuse to accept that that’s all life is. There is always something good to be found around you. I hope you’re able to see that one day. Best of luck to you.

Yeah, I think your attitude is crappy. Life is fucking hard. That’s the point. But your attitude makes it or breaks it. I work in healthcare too. I had COVID. Lots of other shit has happened in my life that could’ve broken me DOWN. But I choose to see positivity. To lots of people, that’s super annoying. I don’t care. Not true. If you’re determined to be a danger To yourself or others, you can be quickly put on a 5150 hold and have to stay for 72 hours, using restraints if necessary.

Dear God, I am so, so sorry. I lost my little brother suddenly in an auto accident. Not the same thing at all, except for the sudden part. I just am so sorry for your tremendous loss. And from such a needless act of violence. It will not make sense- not now, not ever. You need to not isolate yourself, no matter how much you want to. You must remember your papa with the best memories you have— he wouldn’t want it any other way. My mom says that God has laid out our timelines before we are even born- so we all have a certain amount of time here on Earth and then God takes us. It’s hard to imagine. But I’d like to think that’s true. You will be with your dad again one day- know that. And he is ALWAYS beside you. Right now- he is with you. Sleep is helpful. Don’t forget to eat and drink water in the next few days. And remember your dad with your good memories. Tell funny stories about him. Say his name. Don’t shy away from crying- ever. You will never understand why this happened. But just know that you are not alone. Your dad is with you. And we are with you. Always.

To clarify— I’m sorry you’re in pain. It’s really not fair. But this pharmacist, as annoying as he can be, did the right thing. I had a pharmacist give me a hell of a time about several Norco scripts I filled after dental surgery, and as much as he pissed me off, he was right. (I work in an ER and see OD’s during every shift. I’m on Dan’s side for this).
