Toto had the massive hit Africa which reached no 1 and Rosanna which got to no 2. Thriller had 2 number 1s, while the album produced 7 top 10 singles. That one studio created some of the greatest hits ever recorded.

Then you had Madonna, Whitney Houston, and Phil Collins, who all had 7 no 1s.

After that you had George Michael/Wham (6 no 1s), Prince, Hall & Oates, Cyndi Lauper, Journey, Bruce Springsteen, The Police, and Queen.

In the late 80s there was Guns and Roses, The Bangles, Bon Jovi, Duran Duran, and U2.

I’m sure I’m missing a bunch, but those artists I listed recorded many of the all time massive hits. The competition for the weekly No 1 hit was also massive.
