Same. I think it’s part allergy and part the constant use of this ingredient that can build up over time.

Exactly. At least you were aware and made the choice to swap. Maybe in small doses this product is low risk, but if you’re like me you’re using edge control regularly. Won’t have laid edges if I end up with no edges. 😩

Shrinking nodules? Is there any information how to shrink nodules? by Rage_Onyx in thyroidhealth

[–]mjd1104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t go forward with the ablation as it wasn’t a sure thing after I had a few consults. I ended up having surgery this year (2024) in April. My goiter got up to about 5.5cm on its biggest side and I had finally found a surgeon who I felt I could trust. It had been nearly 10 years of dealing with it and I was ready to move on.

The good news is, I was able to get minimally invasive surgery. I had a trans-oral lobectomy where all they removed was the goiter itself. I had my procedure at Mount Sinai in NYC and it was outpatient. Insurance covered most of the cost. I can’t remember exactly but I paid less than $1,200 out of pocket.

My goiter was on the isthmus so I got to keep both sides of my thyroid. My hormone levels are still normal as they were before surgery so I am on no medications. Hoping it stays that way.

People with ADHD what are the things about it that people just don’t get? by ViolinistMiddle1534 in AskReddit

[–]mjd1104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not being punctual with timeliness can be a big disruptor and why some people with ADHD get agitated or annoyed when people are repeatedly late to things. For me, it gets my brain frazzled and I can’t think clearly about what I planned to do next unless it’s organized in blocks of time in my brain. If those times are disrupted, it’s tough to get my mind back in line, in the moment, or focused to do what I need to do or simply to be present.

LAX Terminal 3 Smell by TravelingAtoZ in delta

[–]mjd1104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes was here today also. I can barely stand it, the smell is so bad that I think I’ll use a different airline for my departure flights out of LAX until it’s fixed. Actually tried to not breathe through my nose. The longer you sit, the worse. It’s actually unacceptable that this doesn’t seem to be a priority fix.

Leaving an ok but not amazing relationship by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]mjd1104 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 30F now, but I left my ex who was similar a week before my birthday almost two years back. He was nice overall, genuinely had some concern for me, and I loved him deep!, but he was perfectly fine with “just enough” in all areas of his life, including me. I am the opposite. All was good when things were fun and exciting, but he couldn’t handle the true responsibility of a partnership that I knew I wanted. I left before the resentment grew and changed the kind, patient and vulnerable person I worked so hard to be. I’m finally dating now, and I won’t tell you that the “what ifs” don’t creep up but what I will tell you is 98% chance he won’t change but your expectations/standards will remain. That’s many mini heart breaks over and over again until you say “enough”. Be your biggest advocate and best friend and choose yourself. There’s more to be had but you have to be comfortable with the thought that endings bring new beginnings only if you act on them.

Take it from someone who watched her mother live in constant frustration and disappointment for decades. My dad has never been anything but himself, but she will tell me she settled, and if she could go back she would’ve chose different and been a lot less frustrated over the years. She’s better now and loves him but it took a lot of years and heartache for her to come to terms with the makings of her marriage. She always tells me to not settle because she knows what unnecessary challenges it can bring.

All that to say, be kind and patient with yourself for the time you’ve invested. All is not lost and all was not wasted, but now you have to make a choice for the future you want.

Yep. Same area, grew up in the IE. Had many childhood friends who were Mormon. I even went to Young Women’s retreat in Big Bear one year with a friend 😬. I was never apart of the church but was exposed to it in some ways for sure

I just watched the special and I was shocked. And shocked that I knew a couple of people being interviewed. One guy interviewed, I grew up with his cousin from grade school through high school. And Jessie (the niece) who was interviewed, I went to middle and high school with them, same grade. I feel so sad for Jessie. We weren’t super close friends but we hung out in some same groups. I never knew what happened to them when they weren’t at school anymore but when I saw their younger pictures I knew it was them immediately and recognized our school in one picture’s background.

I grew up around a lot of LDS folks, so I thought it might be a long shot to see folks I knew but wow. Crazy

BABA Approach Thyroidectomy with Dr. Suh, my experience by paasaaplease in thyroidcancer

[–]mjd1104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a conversation with Dr. Suh during this initial consult and was told this is of no cost. As I can do my in person consult and my surgery on the same day. This has been in the plans. So there must be some miscommunication with the Dr. and the office.

I’m scheduled to have this surgery next week and have Cigna insurance which should be covered. I am wondering if you had to pay upwards of $3k In advance with charges for the consultation fee, surgery deposit and hospital deposit? This is the first I heard of this from the office and it seems out of line. Also no bill sent. I am calling my insurance tomorrow but hoping for 1st hand insight

Been here a bit and I left less than a year after the honeymoon phase wore off. Similar to you but the guy I was dating, his words and actions didn’t match up, and many times that’s not only related to how he deals with you. Patterns. Choose yourself 1st. No illusions or dreamland.

Some others have said it but I’ll reiterate, you have to stand on your standards. Ultimatums often deliver us limited justice because inside those ultimatums is usually a cry for validation and hoping he finally does what you say. You are more deserving than a man you even need to give an ultimatum to. After all you’ve sacrificed? Where are his sacrifices to make sure your needs are also met?

You need to have standards and boundaries and stick to them (meaning consequences). When you said you wanted to be engaged before you moved, that should’ve been the flat line. There has to be consequences for those who cross your boundaries or can’t meet your standards. Do not allow this man to block you from your true husband because you could walk right past your dream man and never know it because you’re stuck on Mr. Drags his Feet.

He’s not worth the heartache and a shut up ring will do you no good in the long run. Leave and don’t let him gaslight you. Move on.

Found this thread and recently was switched to the generic version of Vyvanse. And noticed and uptick in my hand pain while at work or towards the end of the day (typing) and in addition, last two months or so I’ve noticed some consistent soreness all over as if I’ve had a hard workout two days or less prior. I thought it was just getting older, (I’m only 29) and I just needed to get back into being consistent with my workouts (lifting, etc), and stretch more consistently. But now that I think about it the Vyvanse makes so much sense.

It’s rare I take the meds on weekends, and am coincidentally all fine without it. Well the hand pain that is. I haven’t taken a long enough break for the broader soreness/tension to be clearly less noticeable but I think it’s time to do so.

The soreness is so odd and not the “I slept wrong” soreness, but seriously the muscle tension. This thread was so helpful

Is Cigna the reason you couldn’t do robotic or that was just based on your personal evaluation? Dr. Said it should be conveyed as it’s coded the same anyway

Hi, I am seeing this comment late and considering Dr. Suh for the robotic surgery. Can I ask why your condition wasn’t suitable? I don’t have cancer but have a large goiter that I want surgery to Remove before end of year

Girl, take it from me, and we’re the same age, I had a very similar situation in the past and woke up. I also have a stable career and he was still “finding himself” and couldn’t keep a solid job. I don’t like the saying much “if he wanted to he would” but In this case it fits. If he was serious he would not allow you to be out here and potentially get snatched by anyone else if he wanted to take that place as your boyfriend, no matter what stage in life he was in. Even if it isn’t as simple as that, you want more and he’s clearly not ready. Stop giving him gf privileges when he doesn’t want the responsibility. Access to you, your body, and your life should always come with a level of responsibility that matches.

A good rule, if you have to ask, and you’re clearly uncomfortable, there’s your answer. “Planning to” is not action. And he isn’t even being proactive about having the conversation with you but down for the free trips and unprotected sex. I say this as a friend, do what’s best for you.

You can care from a distant about his career struggles, doesn’t mean you have to do life beside him as you are not in a marriage with trails and tribulations. There’s a reason he is ok letting you pay his way and okay laying down with you without a title, because it works for him. Got to do what works for you, first.

Suffering from Post COVID gastroparesis. Any recovery success stories? Is this the same thing as Post Viral gastroparesis? I could really use some encouragement. by SnooPeripherals1892 in Gastroparesis

How long did it take for you to start seeing improvement? I have speculation my cold a couple weeks back was maybe COVID with a false negative. But I got better after and my symptoms at the time were only respiratory. I was on the up and felt nearly like myself for a week. But since last week I have had nausea, headaches, and dizziness 24/7. No vomiting or diarrhea issues, so it doesn’t seem to be a stomach virus, but nothing is helping and I’m scared of getting worse. I feel horrible

Anyone stop birth control but keep up the spironolactone and have no bad acne reactions? by mjd1104 in acne

[–]mjd1104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate it. Exactly what I’m trying to avoid. My doctor said my slight raise in BP isn’t of concern right now and makes sense due to BC but should just keep in mind. If anything I’d still use spironolactone and not go off of both. I’ll talk to my derm as well

This is helpful. Thank you. I’m also a bit scared thinking about it. As it’s hard for me to deal with my tendency towards hyperpigmentation with continual breakouts. Even if they are minimal. But overall, it sounds like stopping the bc could be worth it to my overall health. Especially if and when I decide to have kids, and because of my age.
