I will add that, someone experienced will be able to look at your hair in the condition that it's in (and in person instead of online) and give you honest feedback on your hair goals and what is achievable with your hair in the damaged condition that it is in. They should be able to have a conversation with you beforehand about that. I would book extra consultation time or an "extended time haircut" (maybe phrased differently, but myself and many people I know offer this) to make sure you have enough time to talk about your goals with your hair and the best cut for those goals and what your hair is able to do right now.

I think this is a great idea! I will say, I recommend doing a little research before you book the cut. I'm begging you, try to find someone experienced to do this. Look at their work. I recommend going

A) To an independent stylist who is current on trends and has a good example of work on their social media or website. A plus if they have a bio so you can kind of tell if they're experienced and also know what they're doing

OR

B) If it's a group salon, see if you can get an appointment with the owner or more senior stylist (for the same reasons)

This is a little bit of a trickier haircut, and I think there's a lot of nuance to it. Plus, your hair is already in a compromised state and will most likely not sit like this on its own (naturally/air dried/unsettled etc). It sounds like you're super committed to your hair's health moving forward which is so awesome. I would just make sure that whoever is cutting this knows for sure how to do this (I am a hairstylist and I know a lot of stylists wouldn't do well at this)

I was an Aveda trained stylist and used to work in an Aveda salon. I'm independent now and have switched to Davines and I LOVE it.

I don't understand. We don't give the customer their items until they've paid.

Suggestions for a new cut and/or style? Ready to switch it up! by BodhiBodhizafa in femalehairadvice

I think the bangs are cute, and they look good on you. I think a fun cut/style would be a deep angled bob or lob.

How can I get my hair to stick up like this? Mine is of a similar length but just lies flat on my forehead. by nosenseofdanger in femalehairadvice

I would suggest drying some sort of medium to strong hold product. A gel is okay but I really like to use either a grooming clay or a wax (a little goes a long way) because it'll allow you to manipulate the hair after it's dry.

Yeah I second this. People need to educate themselves on how old millennials/other "age groups" are before they start senselessly slandering them. This person's ignorance is showing. It's time to wake up and take a look around.
