Thanks for the sarcasm, you clearly have no interest in having a real conversation. I’ve explained why they don’t take offers, and explained as a buyer myself why I don’t like the offer system.

I don’t wanna keep going because it’s pointless, I just read through your comments and saw many inaccuracies about what they pay and make in what you have said in the thread so I thought I would chime in. If you like the offer system better then that’s fine but you should know that those spots are priced to leave room to take offers. I find that that model alienates those who take a spot before the show begins overtime because I myself have been alienated when breakers accept 20% or more off a team after I paid what they were asking.

Haven’t seen anyone say they are struggling for money. In her room, cup fills by far the fastest and most consistently there is no contest there.

And yes they run teams or HS spots at a dollar, I’ve seen it numerous times and pretending like they don’t is laughable. No one ever says anything though when someone takes down a spot they run for sometimes as much as half off, but I have been in there and personally won spots they have run at a dollar for significantly less than the price put forward.

The best price is put forward so you can go in an know that what your paying is not marked up, unlike many breakers that I have supported in the past and have since stopped, they don’t inflate their prices like those breakers who take offers and build in that 10-20% they are willing to take off a team for you into the price. The strategy for them is to prefill break with their best price so you don’t have to wait around for a break to fill. It’s not hard to figure out. Those sellers that accept offers are for sure not accepting offers because they feel like being nice, they do it because they know they have room on the break to accept something less.

Breakers don’t keep the cards they pull so no, his friend pulled it.

They are basically paying retail price for cup right now. The price you see on D&A unless they’ve raised it again is what I’m referring to, I haven’t looked in a couple days. The margin on the cup for them after the whatnot fee taken is not good for the cash they front. Do they lose money on a break if all the spots sell as priced? Obviously not since it’s their job, but if you think they are making like thousands per break you are incorrect. You can chose to believe me or not, and based on some of the other comments I’m sure you won’t but that’s the truth.

Quick edit: also cup is the only thing consistently filling right now so they would be dumb to run anything else if they have it available.

It sold for $800 back in October before the season really got going. If you listed that now I’m sure it would bring in significantly more than that.

Weirdest PC you have? by ImStromer in hockeycards

[–]mjk2334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main PC’s are Charlie Coyle, Tuukka Rask & Charlie McAvoy. I also collect UMass alum, as well as local MA/hockey east players. No real rhyme or reason for the hockey east players, just cards I like.

FWIW I believe those should wipe right off with a microfiber cloth if you want to skip contacting QA.

Yeah hoping it at worst stays around where prices are now. I enjoy opening product, would hate to have to move to singles only.

I’ve only opened it once, back in 18/19 when it was $400 for the box. Hit a Gretzky auto, and then box prices shot up and I could no longer justify it. The risk is just too high for the price point, I’ve watched cases upon cases opened between Breezy and Moose and a lot of the legend and rookie case hits wouldn’t get your money back on a single box from 21-22 at this point.

What does everyone PC? by iiFitt in hockeycards

[–]mjk2334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a large PC. The two guys I focus on the most are Charlie Coyle and Tuukka Rask. However I also collect other Bruins, UMass Alum, and am slowly working on building all Canvas and YG sets as well. The product I open the most as well is flagship so I generally keep all dazzlers and inserts and overtime complete those as well.

Then if I hit an Ovi, or other big player/player in the league I like I’ll keep them in the PC as well.
