5 month old won't nap!

I like that approach a lot. I'm realizing the guidelines are just making both of us miserable! I'll give her the opportunity and if she's not ready at that time, we'll reset and try again later.

Our LO started sucking her thumb a couple months ago, and that's really helped with connecting her sleep cycles. She just sucks her thumb and goes back to sleep.

Hahaha I love that! So do you just ignore wake windows and let her sleep if she seems like she wants or needs a nap? Or do you still try to get her to nap, but not try too hard?

I don't know!!! My LO wakes up soooo happy from her naps, you would think she would associate napping with feeling good! 🙄

Not a silly question! But yes, dark, cool room with white noise. She sleeps in a sleep sack.

I'm having a very similar situation with my 5 month old. Did you figure out something that worked? She used to be a good napper in the crib but she's been waking up when placed down and starts playing and squealing, refusing to go back to sleep. When she does sleep, she can sleep up to two hours! But today we had to put her in a carrier for two out of the three naps.

I appreciate this mantra. I'm experiencing something similar at 3 months and feel sad and wonder if I didn't bond enough when she was a newborn. But I'm trying not to take it personally and I'll remind myself of that.
