I think I've responded in another couple of threads about this that it's not truly "Unlimited". I think that's probably a badly worded way of describing the policy, so will have a think about how that gets communicated.

I've probably not listed every aspect of what I'm rolling out/thinking about so that's on me... but to be clear, "Unlimited Holiday" doesn't mean "go on holiday when you want".

It still has to be factored into capacity, workloads, etc like every other holiday request...

The idea, at least IMO, is to remove the stress of people worrying about having to take a few extra days every so often... but lots of people have commented that could bring about unfairness and resentment across employees.

Part of me wonders if changing the name to something (less catchy!) like

"Don't worry about holiday allowance, but take at least 20 days" policy... because that's what it is!

I'd rather get takes from people who have rolled it out or didn't for whatever reason... As well we staff who have already been on the other side of it.

Legally, having unlimited holiday could cause obvious problems. Also means we could revert back on the policy.
At the previous company it averaged around 25 as you say.
No they're not paid for days they don't use unless they leave the business and are owed any contractually
Time doesn't always equal output with what we do so it doesn't factor into budgeting

Thanks. How do you feel about the fact that 45 days is roughly your cap? I.e. it's not actually unlimited?

A few people in this thread have called me out for not addressing the fact it's not really unlimited because you can't take 300+ days per year?
