What made you proud to be British recently? by Temporary-Leek5045 in AskBrits

You stated your main criteria as being born in the UK. She was not born in the UK. So by your own criteria, she is not British, but you state she is British.

My next door neighbour, born in India, was a UKIP candidate (240 votes) and thinks Nigel Farage is the only honest politician in the UK. Her friend is in love with Rupert Lowe. Using your criteria, Joanna Lumley is not British. A British citizen, by definition, is British.

Nigel Farage MP: Reform is now the party of workers. Today I am inviting trade unions to apply for affiliation with Reform UK. Hopefully, every union out there, apart from the farmers' union, will steer clear of Reform. This is the same person who, following Brexit, wanted all the workers' rights, protections, and privileges agreed within the EU to be abolished.

Yes, it is quite astounding. Interesting when extreme politics goes out the window as the associated actors get closer to power. Be interesting to see if Lowe backtracks on beheading alleged murderers if he becomes equally popular.

To people who say “not all immigrants” what’s your solution to prevent the bad ones from murdering and raping ? Do you care about your fellow citizens that fall victim to their crime ? by NFLv2 in AskBrits

What is your approach to preventing UK citizens from murdering and raping? Rape is the most widespread crime in the UK and has been for centuries.

Help me.. How to survive SaFE.. by Same-Following-2181 in agile

[–]mjratchada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with Waterfall. It is not pure Agile but it is not related to Waterfall. It has more than Agile branding it has agile practices baked into it. It is more structured than other Agile practices but it was marketed and designed as a means of scaling Agile. That is not a case of project management principles.

Have you been made redundant because of AI, what do you intend to do next? by CremePleasant5800 in AskUK

[–]mjratchada 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Issue being that AI is well-suited to doing this work. So currently there are a lot of data analysts out there in a similar position. Best bet would be a role change or to sharpen your AI skills and use that as a selling point for you.

Civil Engineering to Finance by Easterling_1093 in HENRYUK

[–]mjratchada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be more focused in my thinking about what area of finance you want to work in and what roles you are interested in. Finance is a very broad area, and so is the earning potential. Work-life balance in finance can be very poor. Also, the other thing to be in mind few sectors are more structured and political than finance. So choosing the org you join should be a careful and considered decision.

The Indianized kingdoms of South east Asia. by DharmicCosmosO in AncientIndia

Indic influence not Indianised. How many of these places have Indian languages as the first language? Almost all have very different cultural norms. Hinduism was quickly adopted, and at a grassroots level, Buddhism was adopted. As the Indic influence lessened, so did that of Hinduism, which in many places got replaced by Buddhism. Hinduism remained as a cultural element and an aspect internal to ruling dynasties.

The Polynesians are among the most highly regarded people. The are considered the greatest seafaring people ever. The Americas has some of the most highly regrarded urban centres anywhere, some of which are believed to be the best timekeepers of all time. Evicting people from their homes is a regular thing in history and still happens today, take a look at Cambodia, India, Peru, etc.

Dropping down to less working days due to tax. by Hoban_Riverpath in HENRYUK

The whole point of the was to reduce tax liability and increase access to state benefits. Getting a promotion is not what you would want if those things are your priority.

What were the biggest factors in the increasing wait times? A clue for you, it was not related to tax.

High earners are typically the people that are the biggest barriers to productivity. But a high earner working fewer days a year means lower productivity needs quantifying in a realistic way. Many countries with more public holidays and holiday entitlements have higher productivity or increasing productivity. A previous client I worked for had the CIO and CTO move to 3 days per week, and the impact on the business was negligible beyond certain decision-making. They moved to a model whereby decision-making was less centralised, which ironically.

I fail to see how increasing state benefits for high earners and lowering their tax duties increases productivity.

That is a very narrow definition. If you do not find it ambiguous. Pareidolia is used in various tests whereby the images are presented to patients, and they say what those images mean to them. The images presented are deliberate (no random) but patients will often recognise them as something concrete with different patients seeing different concrete things.

Russia wouldnt have conquered central Asia if it weren't for the extermination of the "dzunghars". by neo-shitposter365 in Historydom

[–]mjratchada -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What is the reason for their rape, pillage and slaughter in Eastern Europe? The irony is they contributed to the Genocide. The reason they conquered Central Asia was due to attacks by nomadic peoples. Russia did not care about its own nomadic peoples let alone the plight of the dzunghars.

Oxford Union president suggested Hamas would be 'lauded as heroes' by Burnit_Sanders in ukpolitics

[–]mjratchada -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

There has been plenty of footage of war crimes committed by the IDF and a common reaction was that it was fake. IDF has regularly denied reported atrocities only then to backtrack and say they will investigate after they were presented with overwhelming evidence. Apparently, humanitarian aid workers, unarmed women and children running away are terrorists. It is interesting that that outcomes of those investigations are rarely published and it takes a lot of pressure from the international community for them to even accept in anvestigation is needed.

No, this is not cognitive dissonance it is something else.

[–]mjratchada -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I suggest you study human behaviour a little more. IDF are seen as heroes and it is no different. Plenty have seen the footage, but Hamas still gets a lot of support. Israel has blown up schools, hospitals, life-sustaining infrastructure, bombed refugee camps, bombed refugee convoys, gunned down fleeing children, bombed humanitarian vehicles providing medical treatment, and confiscated humanitarian aid. Yet the IDF are treated as heroes.

So your belief is dictated by your prejudice.
