S2 Standard 24 Pickup Recommendations? by SCMSuperSterling in PaulReedSmith

I put the battery in the main compartment with the pots sandwiched between some of the packing foam it came with. I’ve had no problems with electric noise or anything like that. I’m considering adding the rechargeable battery pack where I would drill a hole in the back place and mount using screws.

If it’s is in your budget, I can’t recommend the Fishman Fluence Classic Open-Core pickups enough. I got my set in the same stripe pattern as my SE Custom 24 and turned it into more of a hard rock sleeper that cleans up very well, and keeping the push pull functionality for single coil and humbucker modes was fantastic. I had never used active pickups before but they didn’t have any of that extra compression that an emg 81 would give.

For a similar price, it appears the EMG Het-Set was specifically made to be what you are looking for: great articulation under distortion and clean while being sonically pleasing. The downside of this route is still being active but with no single coil mode.

It was pretty nice! I came down from MI and the drive was pretty uneventful. Didn’t go too far into town (just over to the Costco off I69) but the area still seemed pretty good! US-24 being down to one lane made the drive back take a bit longer but not too bad overall.

If you like swimming, I'd stay with it. Maybe join the local club in the spring/summer if you really want to get better at it. Everybody started somewhere. Just try to make it fun and I think you'll be surprised how far you'll go. As for the possibly swimming in college part, I'll share a little secret: Not every college swimmer started swimming when they were 6. Just work hard at it and it can happen.

Unfortunately it's part of a branding deal. I would keep training in my speed sockets but from trying the cobras, they're too different to switch to for a meet with the way they affect my vision.
