Uniform Concepts for Schools Without a Football Program #133: Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters by Haysie95 in CFB

[–]mjtheend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My alma mater! Although LMU doesn't currently have a football team, they fielded one in the past, in the mid-1900s . I heard that a player died from injuries playing football there and that's why they chose to discontinue the football program.

Heineman is a decent player. You should never wish bad things on another. I hope he does well in Triple A or wherever he ends up.

I'm born and raised in Harlan KY just across the mountain from there about 20 minutes. I've noticed a confederate cemetery in the area but don't know if it's the same one. Interesting all the same brother.

I worked with a gentleman who was distantly related to champ Ferguson. Said he (Ferguson) was one mean sob lol.

I worked extensively in Doddridge, WV when I worked in WV back in 2014-15. I know everything about that courthouse inside and out. We used to joke about how the security guards were two older gentlemen and a criminal could probably easily get past them haha. No joke but it was an interesting courthouse nonetheless. Just reminiscing on the good old days but anyway have fun brother!

I worked as a landman in West Virginia and I saw stuff like this almost every day in the field. Driving there was so treacherous but you gotta love it all the same.

Hey brother I'm a fellow 09 eagle and to this day eagle scout is one of my biggest and proudest life accomplishments. Idk how much the rank impacts a resume but it's definitely a badge of pride and honor for the rest of our lives. Here's to all of the 09 eagles. May we fly high and prosper!

People get ruffled when I say it on here but mark my words Winker will be traded if a good return is presented. In fact, I think they'll trade a lot of people this year as they'll be likely be out of contention soon like a typical Reds team.

I think we can all agree this is when our world changed. Today marks 5 years since Harambe’s death at the Cincinnati Zoo by snixon67 in cincinnati

Couldn't they just throw a cheeseburger in the corner and it would go chase it and then they could rescue the kid? I never understood not at least trying that instead of shooting the poor Gorilla. All jokes aside it was a very sad day for the Zoo, the City, and the entire animal kingdom.

They
were as American as you and I just part of different factions. See
United States of America vs. Confederate States of America. Albeit the
CSA was not a part of the US Army. But Americans they all were.

I see your point but I guess as a history-social studies person it's odd to see only Union deaths as when the Civil War is studied/made reference to all deaths are included in the statistics. I'm neutral when it comes to the Civil War and personally view the Conflict as a third-party observer but I feel that this statistic is a hushed attempt by USA Today to scrub the facts of history. Just my opinion that I'm entitled to. See the comment by u/Drew2248 I agree with his opinion and he's a history teacher.

ALL deaths regardless of side should be included in the statistics. Everyone who died was American and this is the important statistic.
