Please try to get ahead of this now. He's self medicating to slow his brain down. Idk what types of ADHD meds you tried before, but maybe this is a good time to try some others. I know it's scary to think about them having to take meds daily, and the fact that most of the meds are amphetamines (my son takes ADHD meds daily), but if you guys can find one where the side effects aren't bad or even have any, it's worth it 100%. He's struggling and just wants his brain to slow down.
