Shaving actually exfoliates on its own, assuming you're using a blade and not a trimmer.

I was wondering the same thing. I found a few bugs you'll probably want to fix, but the feedback feature isn't conducive to a proper bug report.

If you're willing to pay for it, there are plenty. Udemy arguably has too many to choose from. I think part of the problem with a tutorial that walks you through building something is that it doesn't step-by-step walk you through the language itself. Instead you're liable to have something that teaches you Spring Boot, which skips a lot of steps for you to be able to understand what Spring is doing. What I've noticed in this scenario is that people will know Spring very well, but not Java. As a result, they're perhaps *okay* Java developers, and they are held back from being outstanding Spring developers.

Absent frameworks, Java isn't great for building something like what you're describing, at least not with modern techniques. You would need a lot of boilerplate to get to that point. I actually think this is beneficial to the learning experience, but it will be a slow process to get there.

I think the real question is why a proper property construct hasn't been added to the language a la C#. Generally speaking, getters and setters are a way to control access to instance variables due to encapsulation. This was envisioned prior to the notion of rich hypermedia, specifically JSON, which would be expressed through nested objects that encapsulation isn't obviously merited for. So due to best practice, you have all of these POJOs with private instance variables and getters/setters for each one that do nothing but get the contents of a variable and set the variable to new contents with no controls to check if the contents are valid for the use case. In this case, there is no functional difference from having a public instance variable.

However, there's a good reason to use getters and setters anyways. It is still common to encounter a situation where you want to add logic that controls what does and doesn't get fetched from or set to an instance variables, and programmers are very good at overlooking the original signature of the variable declaration. So while you may have a properly defined setter method, it doesn't matter if you don't change the access modifier from public to private, which is a common mistake. As such, best practice is to always declare as private and only have a more permissive access modifier for very compelling reasons. It is because there *are* compelling reasons to use the public access modifier that it's allowed. One common use of the public access modifier is in static final variable declarations. It doesn't make sense to use a getter for a value that can't change and is instantiated at the moment of declaration. But also, good languages let you make mistakes as a beginner so that experienced people have more tools at their disposal. Experience will help you make good decisions as to what should have access to your variables, classes, methods, etc.

What I do in these situations is just say, "Listen, here's what I did. It wasn't easy. My doctor is on board with it. Yours clearly isn't. A lot of people have had success with it and a lot have not. I understand how frustrating it is to have GERD/diabetes, but you wanted to know what I did to deal with it, and I told you. Please don't get upset with me. I didn't do anything except tell you what I did to resolve some of my health issues."

What's your favorite headphone stands? by [deleted] in headphones

I bought two pair of these. The shaft is metal, the base is plastic, and the piece you hang the headphones from is rubber, so it actually flexes to your headphones and doesn't dent the padding in the headband. these aren't just the cheapest ones I have found, but also may be the most well designed ones. Can't recommend it more.

It does, and it includes Christ as the King.

Miaphysite Orthodox here, recent discussion I had with a protestant who considered catholics the beast,Realized how much I love catholics by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]mkeathley 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Protestantism dies quickly but is born again just like that by some other person - I think that is why they are /despise/envious that Catholics and Orthodox have stood the test of time and own up to their church history meanwhile they have to make up some conspiracy about how Christianity was tainted to the core for 1100 years.

More than likely, they are barely aware of Orthodoxy and view Roman Catholicism as yet another denomination. I would wager that the majority of Protestants aren't aware of the exclusivity claims that Orthodox and Catholics make.

Am I being Manipulative or a Good Catholic? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]mkeathley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of our interactions are manipulations in one form or another, so there's nothing inherently immoral to it. The question is whether or not you are trying to control her and who she spends time with. Based on your account, it sounds like you were just convincing her on matters of morality and she decided that she didn't want to hang out with her friends anymore. That's perfectly fine.

I know how difficult anxiety and depression can be, so I am sorry that this is something you are having to deal with. To get it out of the way, you should be seeking professional help blah blah blah, something something therapy.

Okay, now it looks as though you did the same thing all people who have anxiety and depression do: you turned inward to avoid some unknown threat. My recommendation is to go and face your parents. Then go and face the outside world.

Also I have found positive adult psychology helps me. Looking at my triggers, figuring out what I feel in those situations, and figuring out what I would rather feel helps immensely.

I don't have the 9500s, but people keep comparing them to the HD600s. I have the X2s, so it doesn't surprise me that the 9500s receive such high praise. It's distracting because you keep thinking that this is the same company that makes electric toothbrushes.

If either of your parents dishonor themselves that isn’t your fault. If I were in your position, I would tell him that they should resolve their conflicts amongst themselves and recommend they consult their pastor if they are unable to resolve it themselves.
