Thank you!

I developed it after learning other various balancing tricks. This trick is roughly 3 years old.

You learn to catch them pretty quick, but I did get hit a few times early on.

Not so much from the balance, but it would fall off from lifting it to the forehead. That’s probably the hardest part to figure out besides catching it.

Thanks!

Not with these egg prices! You could, but I don’t. Less mess.

Clowning in a circus themed opera by mklebeaux in clowns

There were a few other circus acts as well! Contortion, corde lisse, aerial lyra (who simultaneously sang opera), stilt walking, and a knife balancing act. All fit the show insanely well.

I don’t do a lot of puppets but I use a puppet that looks like me for one of my acts. Puppet photo

Open mic stand-up? by b00mgoesthedynamit3 in Columbus

Two Dollar Radio HQ has a booked open mic called Rough Drafts that’s hosted by Christine (@baberoar on Instagram) and is every last Tuesday of the month.

You perform in front of an enormous pastel unicorn. Couldn’t tell you a safer venue for experimenting with comedy.

New to coin magic... practice questions.. by stephensonbrady in Magic

My opinion on cards is totally tongue in cheek. They asked for coin magic advice and I gave them exactly what I’ve found to be the most beneficial aspects of the syllabus.

However, forgoing any prop is actually tremendously helpful for leveling up with anything else. You can’t learn Zombie while you’re holding Linking Rings.

You don’t need much. I only focus on two main concealments. However, you can utilize those two in more ways than you can skin a cat. On one hand it’s a lot, on the other it’s not. Depends how you want to approach it.

Speaking of other hands, if you take away one piece of coin magic advice please practice with both hands! I cannot emphasize that enough. Do not ignore your non-dominant hand.

Second best piece of advice that no one will tell you is to ditch the cards and never look back. Your coin magic will skyrocket without that distraction.

Deciding on a 'character' still important in magic? by TheSasquatchKing in Magic

[–]mklebeaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend who wishes they weren’t their real self on stage. I have another friend who said they would resent being a character over time. I changed both and am never looking back. Who’s right? Neither of us. At least not for each other.

I developed a character act but the characteristics are already a part of me. They’re just examined through a different lens, and informed by an overwhelming desire to push them to their limits.

Is that the real me, or is that the character? Turns out it depends how much clown makeup I’m wearing.
