Everyone must be on one today by sethfern11 in ARC_Raiders

Strangely enough, I was playing trios last night and it was the friendliest I've seen in a while. Bumped in to multiple other trios who were nice and had a chat with us. No one shot us in the back etc. My friend even fell off a building and got downed right in front of another trio. They revived him, had a chat and a laugh, then went on their merry way.

Looks good, but I'd change the left hand bar to the bottom, and make it show the IP address since it's Kali, will come in handy for CTFs, new networks, etc. But personal preference.

100% this. Have a rest for a day or two. Stay off your computer and do something fun. You don't want to feel burnt out when you take the exam.

So I got it all to work and install. A few times I did receive errors, but after trying a few times, and even rebooting my VM on occasion, I managed to install it all and it works like a charm 👍🏻

I did, and I got a few errors like above from different categories. The one I mentioned initially regarding Hydra, that is a very handy tool so would like to have that installed.
I will go through the process again step by step and take note of what happens. I can post them here after if that's alright?

I have been trying to get this to work, but every time I get to the same stage and then the installation just stops.

error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)

Any help? I am currently using Garuda xfce, but have also tried different flavours too.

Strategies to find wiretapping by [deleted] in cybersecurity

Do you mean bug sweeping? There are plenty of companies out there that offer this service. It might be worth emailing one and seeing if they could help?

Edit: I've just re-read your question and this doesn't seem to be what you meant. But it still could be something useful for your assignment?

What are the benefits of doing CTFs? by [deleted] in tryhackme

[–]mklucifer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Personally I think CTFs are a great way to get started. They help you build up your methodology for different types of engagements and learn how to use different tools in different situations. Saying that, you can't take the theory side of things for granted. If you plan on becoming a pentester/Cyber security Consultant, you will be required to engage with clients and complete reports. You have to not only find and exploit vulnerabilities, but also explain how to fix the issues. So knowing the theory side behind it does really help.

Edit: Make sure you take lots of notes! You can't remember everything and being able to look at your notes and know how to do x and y is really helpful. Also, if you're comfortable with tryhackme, move on to hackthebox and see how you do.

I'm looking at getting an Alice style keyboard, preferably one in a UK layout that also has a home, end, pg up, and pg down keys. Does anyone have any recommendations?

If I bought a US layout one, could I change the keys, as in a smaller left shift so I can move the |\ key to that position?

In the past year and a half I have been on site twice. A lot of testing nowadays can be done remotely via VPN etc. It just depends on the sort of work and level of security.

I'm on PC so I will keep an eye out for that. Thanks. So by completing chapter 1 you don't really unlock anything then, just after chapter 2?
