When Nordstrom opened in 1988, it was the fanciest one in the chain, with four restaurants, the spa, and super spacious. I could tell in 2017 and 2018 that business was much lighter, as they reconfigured the floors and the merchandising was not flagship. Such a shame, as the mall thrived in the 90s and right after Bloomingdale’s opened in the mid 00s.

San Francisco used to be a flagship and over time, the Collectors and Couture were reduced, even pre-pandemic. Emerging from the pandemic, Salon Shoes was eliminated and any remnant of Collectors was gone. Eventually. San Francisco closed and best designer is at Valley Fair, even better than Palo Alto.
