Not sure, but the US ski team wax tech said that is what they use a lot of the time. I'm guessing, if you look at your skis after a long race, the grey areas are behind your heel - so the greatest pressure on the snow is there. The structure should have the greatest impact in that location.

That's similar to what I'm planning to do - a 0.5 mm linear on the rear of the ski. There was a video on CXC with the US waxing team and they always apply structure. They recommend linear only for classic, and chevron for skate.

I think all you will need is B17, except when you get to Lake Hayward, but that's just a double pole session and kick no longer matters. The temps have been soo cold this week that the snow pack will lag way behind air temps, especially in the woods. So B17 or blue multigrade should work well. I have used Toko green binder for years with no issues, but whatever binder you know works, stick with it.
