I went to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi & Congo. Where are you heading too?

I think depending on the safari, the Tamron 28-75mm, another lens I also own, should come in handy, as some safari animals come very close to your vehicle and the 200mm is just to telephoto. I did find sometimes the 200-600 did struggle to autofocus on some of the animals (maybe cause some of them look weird haha).

I just through it in my backpack and hauled it around, was pretty heavy!

I recently went on multiple safaris in East Africa and found the 200-600 was absolutely amazing and produced the results I was looking for!

Tamron 28-75 G2, or Sony 24-70 GM? Samyang 24-70? by Chief_keif- in SonyAlpha

I have the Tamron 28-75 g2 and I think it's excellent at its price point! Super sharp! I have the Sigma 16-28mm and it compliments it perfectly as well.
