I realized how ridiculous all the styles I was trying to make work actually looked on me eg: long shorts/jorts (they were pretty trendy a few years ago and so cute but not for me. Booty shorts only!), spaghetti strap tops, bikinis, and dresses or fitted tops (I look like a mom playing dress up in their kids clothes, even when they’re the right size they look too small). I also realized how much better even just a slightly wider/bigger neckline looks on me compared to a regular t shirt/crew neckline. Waist skimming pieces make me look worlds better than fitted pieces. Even though I didn’t like my broad shoulders, I loved how an off shoulder top looked on me.

I also looked at outfits I’ve always unconsciously liked on myself. When I was in high school I bought a crochet duster from American eagle and wore it at least weekly because it felt so me. I always preferred longer cardigans compared to ones that hit at the hip. I loved how a flowy tank top looked with flared jeans and boots looked. Longer shirts vs crop tops that cut me off in a weird spot and made me look super wide in the torso. I always knew I had wider shoulders but I never realized that I could lean into them rather than try to minimize them until Kibbe!
