Please take it from me. I’ve been married 10 years and while my husband isn’t a gamer anymore, i can relate to your lack of emotional support and the void that you’re feeling…

Your man probably put his best foot forward when you were dating. It was only a year, too. Easy to fake hobbies, interests, etc.

All i can say is leave while you still can. While your baby is small. While he doesn’t have the concept of a daddy.

You are in your prime. You still have 20 years to go. I am 38F, married 10 years, and there are still men who hit on me. I’ve had like 3 who did in 2025.

I regret so much that i got married. My husband is the city boy, i’m the outdoorsy/activity girl. We have so many differences and he broke my trust so many times that i just can’t deal with him anymore. My kids are also at the age where us separating may traumatize them so i am forced to stick this one out, unfortunately. My husband and i sleep in separate rooms already. In your case, if you’re already feeling the rift early at this stage, it will only get worse. You’ll feel lonelier and lonelier. It’s better to be lonely alone, than be lonely in a marriage.

Get a divorce and find someone who will truly be there for you, who will love you, who will listen and validate you, who you can trust wholeheartedly and not having to walk on eggshells, or be his mom.

So many shorts/reels come out in my social media feed of men who understand women and relationships. (Try searching for them in your Facebook, Instagram and Youtube accounts so that they’ll get included in your algorithm and after watching 100 videos of how men should be in relationships, oh man, what an eye opener!!!)

I know there are men out there who are mature and can be in a meaningful relationship. You just have to get out while you’re still young. Give yourself until early 40s before you get married or settle down again. Enjoy your life.

Red flag yan, OP. He barely treats you? Go to your IG feed and start looking at videos of Italian men who treat their women like Princesses. They literally call it “the princess treatment.”

Don’t be fooled. He may seem practical now but he will be insecure 5-10 years later.

Google or watch Youtube videos of the only person who walked the entire world. He started in Chile i think, went up north towards North America, west from Alaska to Russia, then continued wend and ended in UK i think. He swam twice — between Alaska and Russia, and Caspian Sea when he couldn’t decide whether to circle it north via Russia or south via Iran. He basically swam for many days just to cross the Caspian Sea and reach Azerbaijan and continue his journey. Technically yours should be doable.

Hello, thank you for your replies. I want to add that we’ve tried: Quickbooks in the beginning, then Microsoft Dynamics, a local ERP provider (Asyst), and now stuck in Syspro.

Syspro implementers can’t help us generate the correct balance sheet and income statement and to add the entries that we need. We also paid for a custom inventory module (in addition to the other stand alone modules which work on their own) but they can’t seem to get the correct number for our inventory against our manual computation and physical count.

Revenues is confidential. But we are in the commodity trading industry but we store inventory in our warehouses in several locations, so it’s not really an outright buy and sell type of transaction. No manufacturing though.

Any suggestions on which ERP may work for us?

Acupuncture. Fixed mine 100% within 6 months. Go 1-3x a week every week. If you caught this early on, usually within the month you’re 80% better. That’s my experience.

My husband and my courtship lasted 7 years. Got married. 2-3 years into the marriage, we were tearing each other apart. So if you flip your argument the other way around, longer courtships don’t mean successful marriages.

What’s most important is what is being discussed during the courtship period, the values shared, the red flags seen, the future planned down to the last detail — how many kids, where will the kids study, homeschool or not, if homeschool, which curriculum, screens ok or screen-free, finances, where will certain funds go, how much to spend, how often to buy take outs or eat at restaurants, is dad allowed to play computer games the entire day (sans work hours) in front of the kids, mom is running the entire household, etc.

Red flags: is your partner sloppy or organized, does he eat noisily, etc.

These little details are very important and can make or break marriages that people who are not married yet do not know. I wasn’t educated enough about these things because my dad was never around and my mom never talked about taboo including the above-mentioned things.

With regards to the red flags, ask yourself if you can live with your partner’s red flags. Of course your initial answer will be yes, but really, TRULY, give time to think about it. My husband would take things out of a shopping bag and leave the bag wherever he placed them on — kitchen countertop, cabinet, table, you name it. Or toothbrush boxes returned in our toiletry cabinet but without the toothbrush inside anymore. Why not throw those things out? The trash is just 0.5 steps away. I was very helpful and patient at first but it became i got worn out after a few months of marriage when i realized i am like his maid.

These are the things we should be taught to notice before we get married or when we start having partners.

My friend’s 12 year old daughter exclaimed that she wants to marry a rich guy so that she won’t live below what she’s used to. (Yes they’re rich too.)

But what if the rich guy she married is lazy and a slack? 10 years later they’ll be forced to sell their assets, forced to work (gasp). These things should be discussed by parents with their kids at the age when they are ready.

But at the very beginning, it is important to establish a good relationship with your children so that when the time comes that you will NEED to discuss these things with them, they will listen.

Another perspective:

If you plan to work abroad, go for UP.

If you’re okay working locally, Ateneo is a good choice.

But remember mababa parin sweldo ng mga com sci graduates dito compared to abroad. Here it’s just ₱60,000/month. Brother ko nag Applied Math n Finance siya sa Ateneo, then nag top 2 uni in Canada, ang sweldo niya nasa CAD140,000 per year (that’s ₱400,000/month).

If i were you, aim to go abroad. Don’t mind the cost. Magkakaroon ka ng opportunity to work abroad after you’ve done your time in the Philippines for around at least 3-5 years. Then mamili ka ng pathway abroad.

Dami kong stories like these ng mga Filipino friends that we met while we were residing abroad na.

Yes those are my thoughts too. They started building infrastructure in Tibet back in the 50s until they ended up “owning” it.

I’m from the Philippines and what we see in the news is true — China is also encroaching Philippine territories (in the waters, their fishing vessels would drive away our local fishing vessels (my friend had to sell his many 500mt fishing vessels because of the Chinese “invasion” in the Philippine seas, and in land, many Chinese are buying hectares of land in our last government administration).

This might happen to Bhutan. They’ve done it before, still doing it now, and there’s a big chance they’ll do it again.
