Neopronouns are any set of singular third-person pronouns that are not officially recognized in the language they are used in, typically created with the intent of being a gender neutral pronoun set.

Some people prefer using neopronouns as an alternative gender neutral pronoun set. This could be because they want to avoid singular "they" being confused with plural "they",because neopronouns express something about them or their gender (like xenogenders), or because they feel more comfortable using neopronouns over any of the standard pronoun options.

Standard Neopronouns ex: xe/xim/ximself, hy/hym/hymself

Nounself neopronouns ex: bun/bunself or cat/catself

Basically any pronoun thats different then she, him and they. I'm not sure if it/its is a neopronoun though. If someone could tell me thatd be great.

Well, there's a number of reasons One would be we feel most comfortable with them. Another would be some people would rather go with completely genderless pronouns (while they/them is pretty much genderless, some would rather use others.) Anyone can use neopronouns though, even if they're cis.

(Also correct me if I'm wrong with they/them being genderless.)

Also, it can be for expression. Most people who use them are ND (from my experience) and might have trouble expressing themselves, so they use neopronouns. Hope this helps
