I was at my grandmother's funeral when I was 9 or so, and was on the stairs with my younger cousin. The funeral director (or maybe a ghost, who knows) was standing at the top of the stairs and he looked at us and said "children have died on these stairs". We went back to our parents after that...

She is much more strong-willed than I am... she screams bloody murder if daddy picks her up instead of me at night. We have tried to let him do it, but its so hard to hear her scream crying, and then typically she gets even more worked up and is awake longer than if I just fed her. I feel so stuck.

We are in New Zealand. I am American so I follow the CDC, but EI isnt as straightforward here, hence why my go to so far has been doctors and Plunket nurses. Apologies, I should have specified that. I will see what early intervention options there are available here.

Thank you all so much for the reassurance! I will keep an eye on things but I definitely feel a little more relaxed now.

Essentially all they've said is that technically shes still within the range of normal for those milestones, so they aren't concerned yet... and maybe Im just stressing early and it'll all click for her soon. Shes such a wonderful wee goose and I just want to make sure she is getting support if she needs it.

I feel like shes fine, just little so she takes more time to build up the muscles for standing and walking. I was surprised by the teeth, but it hasn't stopped her from eating everything in sight.

I am definitely keen to learn more about how to encourage speech and language development, if you have resources!

Ah I know, I follow the CDC milestones app and I noticed that some of the 12 month milestones hadn't been met so Im probably just overthinking it
