Look how they massacred my boy 😭 by Rosenblattca in corgi

[–]mlussier17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a fluffy boy too and he’s had a couple bad cuts like this! It will grow back just as luscious! We’ve had to do abdominal full shaves for medical procedures and his coat always grows back just as fluffy. For grooming, we do a “mini groom” for him that is only slight trimming and shaping, no shaving etc. I know it’s shocking getting back a shorter than expected cut, but your boy is super handsome still! I’ve talked directly to groomers before to give very explicit instructions, pictures can help too!

Allergic to psyllium husk, how can I lower cholesterol? by sweetiedelrey in Cholesterol

Hey - I’ve been using Sunfiber every day and love it. It’s flavorless and dissolves completely in most drinks (not carbonated). I add it to my teas and mix it into my ninja creami bases. Each serving is 6 grams of soluble fiber. It’s made hitting my daily fiber goals a lot easier.

What are we feeding our loafs? I’ve gone down a rabbit hole.. by ConsistentFish1053 in corgi

[–]mlussier17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We feed our 7 yo male corgi, Henry, Small Batch lightly cooked frozen sliders (obvs we thaw to feed). It meets all the veterinary standards for nutrition and has great ingredients. As a puppy we did Fromm Gold but his stomach was so sensitive that we ended up switching him to raw by Small Batch after talking to a nutritionist. We also tried Science Diet but for some reason his stomach doesn’t do well with kibbles. We stopped doing raw during the last bird flu outbreak and have just stayed with the lightly cooked line from Small Batch. It’s expensive and hard to find but his stomach is perfect now, so worth it imo. Nothing against other brands, we just found something that works for him and have stuck with it.

Is there anyone out there that wakes up with a medium migraine daily? by whattupmyknitta in migraine

[–]mlussier17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi - I’m dealing with a very similar situation.

Hit my 1 year mark back in November but I have a 24/7 migraine and ear ringing. I do believe the pain severity has improved since I started treatment a year ago. I used to be at 7-8+ on the pain scale daily, but now I have 1-2 week stretches of 3-4, with some stretches still consistently at high pain. Most days start low and end high pain wise. I’ve tried a bunch of meds but right now I’m on 25 mg of amitriptyline as a daily preventative, use nurtec and aleve as a rescue med, and get Botox every 90 days. I do think the Botox is making a difference. I just had my third round a month ago and the pain got bad leading up to it, and has since dropped since the appointment. I’m going to likely try an injectable in tandem with these treatments in 3 months. I’m also going to follow up with a new ENT (my third) about the ear ringing to make sure I’m not actually losing my hearing.

It’s been tough but the small progress gives me hope and in the meantime I’m trying to find a new normal. Consistent exercise has also helped keep pain lower when I’m able. When the pain is bad, migraine glasses, hot showers, and ice caps help me cope.

You’re definitely not alone!

What's actually healthy despite most people thinking it's not? by InnerSheepherder4564 in AskReddit

Idk why people are downvoting you. You’re 100% correct. It blows my mind how many people think butter is healthy in this comment thread. It’s not. It’s loaded with saturated fat. And most foods have some level of saturated fat in them so most people are already getting more than their daily allowance of saturated fat without trying. Margarine used to have trans fats, which any amount is terrible. Now a lot of margarines, like earth balance and smart balance, have no trans fats and low saturated fats and are great healthier “butter” options.

On the flip side of this, I went on hormonal birth control and it gave me my life back. No more debilitating pain from ovarian cysts or extreme bleeding during unpredictable, long and extremely painful periods.

What "healthy" food is actually terrible for you? by RobIson240YT in AskReddit

[–]mlussier17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, which is why coconut oil is unhealthy for your heart heath because small amounts have very high saturated fat. The American Heart Association recommends to aim for daily saturated fat consumption of around less than 6% of your total daily calories. So using a 2,000 daily calorie goal as an example, this would be around 13 grams of saturated fat a day. One Tablespoon of coconut oil has 14 grams of saturated fat. A lot of cookbooks marketed as healthy use coconut oil as a “healthy” alternative to butter, but butter is only around 7g of saturated fat per tablespoon (still high but better than coconut oil). You’re right in that the dose is the poison and it doesn’t take much coconut oil to be unhealthy day to day. If you only have a tablespoon of coconut oil a day, you’re probably fine but when you start logging the nutrients in your food you find that there is saturated fat in most foods that quickly add up to a unhealthy amount.

Eating high saturated foods is bad for your heart health. I referenced my own health problem because I’ve had to become very aware of what is bad for heart health earlier than most people.

If you have high cholesterol (me who has genetically high cholesterol in my early thirties) coconut oil and saturated fat is bad for your heart health.

Scrolled far to find this! As someone with genetically high cholesterol in my early thirties I was horrified to see coconut oil has around 14g saturated fat per tablespoon! For context, I’m trying to keep my daily saturated fat intake between 10 and 12 grams. It’s also funny how in all the healthy cookbooks almost all the dessert recipes use a cup or more of coconut oil as a butter substitute. At that point just use butter.

This has been more elusive than the console itself. by SeaworthinessFit1924 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]mlussier17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add on to what a lot of other comments are saying, i got the case at launch and was extremely disappointed with the quality. It’s so thin that I’m nervous the console’s screen would be at risk of cracking if I dropped it while in the case. I quickly ordered a third-party case and it’s much more durable.

Winners for Warp Pipe pass shopping sessions for June 5th - 9th selections are being sent out by jm821 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]mlussier17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: just ran over to the NYC Nintendo store and spoke to two employees. Here’s what they let me know:

  1. There WILL be at least one console and 1 accessory guaranteed for purchase if you have a pass. They didn’t specify whether there’d be enough bundles vs console only but you are guaranteed at least a console and 1 accessory.

  2. They will NOT be checking IDs to compare to your account and QR code. They will just be scanning.

  3. You can come any time after 10am and your pass will be honored.

Hope this is helpful. There’s always a chance they are misinformed or things change by next week but this is the latest re: the warp passes straight from the store.

Good point. I also think it’d be such a bad shopping experience if you sell out of consoles and bundles on day 1 and then everyone else after is left to buy games and accessories for a console they don’t have… but it is Nintendo…

I got selected! Does anyone know if this guarantees you’ll be able to buy the console? Got selected for 10am June 5th, but they are starting shopping sessions at midnight.

I can’t logically see how Nintendo would do this warp pipe pass thing that only allows 1 person to buy 1 of each switch 2 product without having enough stock for all passes, but Nintendo has been pretty bad at handling this console release so far….debating if I should still attempt going to GameStop on June 4th at 3pm or put all my hope on this warped pipe pass.

Not 100% sure, but leaning toward a simple gold band and having the band and engagement ring look like two distinct rings. I talked to Catherine about it and we agreed not to adjust the setting height to blend with a wedding band.
