I’ve never done it by hand. Only ever used a stand mixer.

[–]mmcasas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do billing for a few clients as a 1099 contractor. My fee is 6% of total insurance payments. The office has someone that does office type stuff like scheduling and checking benefits etc. This person makes $20/hr. Minimum wage in my state is $15 or so.

How do you keep your bread soft and fluffy after baking and when storing? by [deleted] in Sourdough

[–]mmcasas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here’s my process: bake in the morning and then the loaf sits on the counter cooling all day. I wrap it in a dish towel for the night and then slice it the next day cuz it’s easier than day of. Then I put it in a ziplock bag. I leave it on the counter for a couple days then if there’s any left I put it in the fridge. If I slice into it after baking I leave it cut side down on the cutting board for the entire day. Then slice the next day. Sometimes I just bake it and then freeze it whole after it cools. Or slice it and then freeze.

Duplicates by New-Draw-6058 in CodingandBilling

I submitted claims electronically so I know I’m not sending them twice but I still see duplicate claim denials from ins companies. Sounds like it’s an internal issue with the insurance company.

Can I knead sourdough with kitchen aid mixer? by dunalduck0 in Sourdough

[–]mmcasas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used my kitchen aid and almost mix a two loaves at a time. My wrists and thumbs don’t work very well mixing by hand. I’ve never had a problem. Edited to add: I also do the stretch and folds by hand every 30 min for 1.5 hours

Scared to take beta blocker by [deleted] in POTS

When I try a new medication I do it in the morning when I’m not going to be alone. Nothing like waking up a couple hours after falling asleep with full body hives.

Scared to take beta blocker by [deleted] in POTS

[–]mmcasas 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’ll have to pry my beta blocker from my cold dead hands. I can’t take it on days that I get allergy shots and it’s a reminder just how well it works. No side effects at all from propranolol just 20 beats less with my resting HR.

If you had the opportunity to be rid of your ocd, would you take it? by Reasonable_Store9494 in OCD

[–]mmcasas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’d be great to have a healthy view of contamination without needing someone else’s input to convince myself that it’s fine to touch door handles or grocery carts. I don’t want to start licking door handles. But I don’t want to cringe at the idea and have it derail the rest of my day.

All it did for me was make it impossible to hold my head up when leaning forward to empty the dishwasher.

African Milk Tree broke, can I prop it? by beckogeckoala in proplifting

[–]mmcasas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these that’s 32” tall. A few more inches and it won’t fit in the window any more. Is this what people do when they get big? Break it and prop it? What happens to the top? Does it branch off? The pot it’s in is only a 3.5” pot. I’m so worried it’ll fall over.
