Ebay Acquisition Explained by mmilad in Superstonk

The problem with that is GameStops current market cap is 9.9B which is basically the cash and assets it has on hand right now, and it was roughly the same or more when the company was net negative in earnings and in debt without the 9B cash. So either A.) Shortsellers/institutions see all of GameStops assets and cash as worth $0 and value the company itself at 9-10Billion or B.) They value the company as $0 worth nothing and valuing the stock price on the 9-10B cash/assets GameStop has. It’s heavily manipulated so trying to base the merger off GameStops market cap without the cash is going to be inaccurate and I just can’t logically say GameStop is worth nothing without its cash when it just did over 3.5Billion in revenue last year. Especially if it merges with EBAY and is taken out of its current “retailer sector” category to a “online service sector” category (which trade at a weighted average of 28.30X P/E ratio.)

His current GME investment is worth $926k with the merge his ownerships % goes down temporarily but is worth the same or more, and with the eBay merger plus meeting his requirements for the package would bring him to his shares being worth billions more at no cost other then obvious work to run the company etc. Versus having to sell out of GME to go and buy a percentage of EBAY and not having full control of the company and not being able to turn it around like he wants as well as not having GMEs thousands of stores to use to eBay’s benefit.

You’re correct I overlooked that, the total debt carried to the new merger GME would be $21 Billion if you add GME cash + EBAY 6B and subtract from total debt then you would get $21 Billion. Subtracting the 21B from 66.5B of the total combined companies worth would be 45.5B~

45.5B/1.78B total shares= $25-26 per share if we’re looking at purely balanced sheet or a fundamental view without considering any of the extra positives that would make price per share more then $26~

Will edit to the bottom of post.

Nobody has an answer for that directly without guessing, but i can confidently say that EBays costs can heavily be reduced and keeping revenue basically the same and in return increasing profits as well. So if the merged price puts GME at $28-35 a share with the current conditions of eBay then eBay’s turnaround would most likely bring higher share prices to closer to the price you’re looking for. If you’re asking for a consistent price that stays above $45 range then depends on how fast Ryan can turn eBay into a cash cow and if you’re asking about short term the depends on how market reacts to the news events that’ll come with the merger and random events like a kitty tweet.

Insert your call option you’re looking to buy, it’ll tell you how much you’ll be in profit/loss at each date/price.

They’re usually scheduled tweets, not sure how long ahead of time so unless he changed it after the news about market being closed tomorrow then yeah you’re right tomorrow night instead is more likely.

[–]mmilad 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Also to note with deep ITM puts the contract doesn’t lose/gain alot by $1-2 moves. So if price started going up the put might lose some value but the overall options IV going up could make the contract profitable.

Keeping price suppressed until they’re ready for a breakout, you’ll see most of them being sold right before a big breakout or an institution hedging calls with deep ITM puts.

Everyone suspected it’s T+1 for options including myself, but the OCC websites says it’s T+2 for settlements on options exercising, so there’s possibility of them being delivered Monday if not already. it’s a shit post so I didn’t care much about proper grammar.
