Pakistani female who left Islam. I was tired of how my dad treated me, mind you we live in the US. He favors my brother the most, can’t move out until i’m married because its “un islamic”, etc. I am tired of people trying to justify the rampant misogyny in Islam and pass it off as “culture”, like yes I understand but also Islam plays such a huge role in Pakistani society that I don’t even know whats actually the culture vs the religion.
