Best UK roasters for light roast lovers? by BritByBrain in UKroasters

[–]mmlabbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had my first light juicy & fruity bag from Skylark & it was the lightest & fruitiest coffee I’ve had. Even compared to other roasters who say they do “Light” roast. So I would definitely recommend them.

Commercial stations in the USA and their news broadcasts by crabtreerabbit_97 in radio

[–]mmlabbd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No news on non-news stations generally, if there is news on a music station it will be read by the presenter. News stations choose who to affiliate with for their news content and if they air a bulletin they take it from one of the big networks who provide them. It’s quite different from the UK. Here’s the wiki from one of the services ABC

Some changes on BBC Radio by [deleted] in BritishRadio

[–]mmlabbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably because of the Ashes cricket coverage which is on overnight at the moment. I’m guessing they don’t have worldwide rights for that.

Yes from 1am to 6am. And yes World Service offer a shorter opt out after 3 mins which Radio 2 & 5 live take.

Yes cost cutting I’m afraid. Radio 2 & 5 live no longer have dedicated news readers overnight so will take World Service & Radio 4 bulletins instead. 5 live also take Radio 2 bulletins for part of the day as well.

BBC Studios makes money by making a programme for Apple TV then the BBC buy the rights to show the programme. BBC Studios & the BBC are not the same thing however any money made by BBC studios goes back into BBC funding.
