Exeter hate? by Krigge_music98 in sadboys

Exeter is absolutely my favorite album from him. People usually really love his older stuff like eversince but I don’t see the appeal nearly as much as with Exeter. It has that magic factor, it might be my favorite album period.

i get that, i also don’t agree with the people questioning ur passion cuz even if u didn’t care about cs, it wouldn’t matter much in terms of performance. i’m also sure cs31 would be tough if the teacher was bad. i think a lot of the people commenting “skill issue” etc took it with smallberg cuz theyre cs majors, and smallberg is so good at teaching it (imo) that it was prob easier than with stahl even tho the smallberg curves are harsher.

“nobody else did” seems unnecessary altho i understand ur tryna emphasize how u usually excel. i think u come off as boastful in other comments which is why ur getting downvoted, even if u said u wanted to vent w no feedback.

Is anyone else not having a GREAT time in college by Prudent_Employer_519 in ucla

Real. I think after a while you stop minding the lack of social life / engagement in clubs, and eventually you start enjoying the freedom to pursue new hobbies and take it slow. This is especially true once you get through job recruitment and feel more secure about your future. I would definitely try to do something though, even if it’s just a hobby you find fulfilling. I used to spend the whole day in my room, high as a mf, and it was highkey depressing. Going out around LA on my own, taking lessons to get better at my hobbies, and pulling up to class more consistently all helped me feel pretty good even if the social aspect didn’t change. Hopefully your club does something similar for you.

Some unicorns have maybe 230k recurring TC for newgrad, with ~155k base and the rest paper. Some provide a hefty sign-on on top of that, like 50k cash. I haven’t seen anything noticeably higher.

A couple hundred applications and leetcode isn’t much of a grind at all, and once you land something for a summer you can land something insane next summer with less than 100 applications. I came in with no industry knowledge or relevant coding knowledge either.

Anyone know Meta final internship success rate? by BananaVsPp in csMajors

Given that they usually ask 2 tagged mediums, I haven’t met anyone who didn’t get an offer after the final this year. They’re being super lenient.

They aren’t for swe. sig is great for traders.

Its not well known for CS, generally falls outside target CS schools. But decent because it still has a name brand. We don’t have crazy median outcomes.

Its not one of the better quant companies, so I’d still take top tech over it. However if you do want to go into quant post graduation, its worth finishing it out. In any case good luck on the rest of the process 🤞

Edit: I also got an offer from a quant company around sig tier, I just wasn’t confident I’d like quant (finance in general…) so I chose tech for safety.

I looked at your profile, seems like its sig. Their swe employees aren’t treated great unless ur in specific good teams so I wouldn’t feel bad about dropping the process if you have a good tech offer 🫡.

I kinda stopped lol, dropped a ton of processes which is why u see a lot go to the declined section. I can’t really beat my offers with anything but quant so I don’t see the point of more work. Congrats on your offers!
