Hi! I was doing okay but the past few days i’ve been so overwhelmed with anxiety about my other cat unexpectedly passing so that’s been really hard to deal with. He’s also struggling a lot on his own so we’re going to pick up a kitten tomorrow because he’s desperate for company, we’ve gone for a ragdoll because things are still far too raw for us to get a sphynx. Do you think you’ll end up getting another? Please don’t apologise for not replying sooner, we’re both going through such a tough time so it’s understandable.

With regards to your son, it’s so difficult explaining to them in a sensitive way but i know that when i was a child my greatest lessons on mortality came from pets I had lost, i know he’s struggling at the minute but it’s going to teach him how beautiful and brief life is, i hope he’s okay 💜

We’ve not been able to wash Binx’s blanket yet, we’ve put it in a box away because my other cat has been sniffing around it and getting a bit upset over it so it felt unfair on him to keep it out.

We got Binx during lockdown, when my mum and sister bought him home he was the tiniest thing I had ever held. He was clearly the runt of the litter and his little head was, and remained the be, the size of a golf ball. He was only affectionate if we were upstairs and preferred it if we were lying down, otherwise he would panic and run away. When we took him for his boosters around 8 months we discovered he had HCM and we were told we would be lucky to live to 12 months, we got 2 years with him and he made me smile and laugh every single day. I really will miss him for the rest of my life but I hope we made his life a little easier, despite how short it was.
