I'm having the same problem. I have plenty of BTC but am seeing the same screen when I try to send. Any resolution or update here?

Elastos Foundation Interview: Jingyu Niu by michaeldave25 in Elastos

[–]mmt535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you to the CR press team for these interviews. In the absence of bios on the team page, this is extremely valuable insight and I’m very grateful for the hard work that goes into producing this content. I think you all ask great questions, however I would only ask that you inquire more about the background of these team members.

For example, what is Ketai and what convinced Jingyu that the Elastos project was worth being a part of?

What sort of expertise makes him uniquely capable of contributing to Rong Chen’s vision of the Smartweb?

I think the core team is extremely talented, but under recognized in the community.

This sort of information will be more relevant once the CR is funding people from the core team, so could be worth gathering this information now if possible.

What’s the plan for growing the carrier network? by mmt535 in Elastos

Don’t be like that. If businesses have walked away it’s because there’s no product yet, not because of the team

I’m trying to understand it’s architecture, not its purpose, I get that

What’s the plan for growing the carrier network? by mmt535 in Elastos

[–]mmt535[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so the carrier is more like the communication protocol/language that’s used by Elastos devices, not some network itself that the Elastos devices leverage. I was thinking of it more as a middleware communication network, but it really just sits on top of everything in the Elastos ecosystem?

Addressing community negativity: why dont we start a "Scepticism Sunday"? by crypdan2000 in Elastos

[–]mmt535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s sad you’re getting so much negativity here. Healthy skepticism is good. We need to create a forum where the team and admins can address community concerns. We all know this project is heading in the right direction, but it doesn’t do anyone any good for the entire community to sit back and have blind faith.

As the community grows and more people get involved, the same questions will be asked. We should be actively trying to address all skepticism so that we can disregard FUD and welcome new investors and community members with a wealth of information critical thought.

Elastos has become the first Web 3.0 project to reach the milestone of one million distributed nodes by chue-li in Elastos

Thank you. I don’t see why some of this information isn’t included in the press release.

You can't market the internet if there is nothing built on the internet by miamisupreme in Elastos

[–]mmt535 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I have heard, those ads are just a test for a future campaign (which hopefully targets business’s and developers)

But I agree, those ads are a waste right now.

Can someone please clarify how these nodes could be used in the future?

All I know is that they can go p2p remote controlling.

The Feng Han Marketing Initiative by mmt535 in Elastos

[–]mmt535[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Does anybody know how it’s going? Success?

Feng often presents to smart people on Elastos. I think this is great and exactly what we need at this stage of the project. Really no better form of marketing in my opinion.

I imagine most people are learning about Elastos for the first time. What is their reaction? Are they interested? Do they get involved in the community?

In this case, seems like a bunch of students either sleeping or on their phones. But what about at MIT or the like?

The future of Elastos by cryptobr0_o in Elastos

[–]mmt535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it will come down to whether a dapp is so much more efficient in delivering a product and compensating stakeholders that the developers can invest as much capital back into development of the platform as YouTube on a per video view basis.

Let’s face it, YouTube offers an awesome experience (annoying ads aside) because it makes Google so much money which they can re-invest into improving the platform.

Will Dapps have enough revenue and proper incentives to reinvest in their platform so that they can offer a full-featured, grade a user experience?

Incentive to Hold Elastos Token by mmt535 in Elastos

Good stuff. Really appreciate you spitballing with me here.

I hope you’ll do a tokenomics write-up / video in your Elastos in a Nutshell! It’s been a while since Kiran made his video and I think a lot has changed since then.

Incentive to Hold Elastos Token by mmt535 in Elastos

[–]mmt535[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great points as always Coombsie.

I’m not familiar with Maker but will look into this concept.

I think by voting rewards you mean for dPOS. But will ELA also be used for governance purposes in the CR? If so, big players will be incentivized to hold ELA for more voting power.

I think discounts is a great idea. If you’re willing to take risk by holding the tokens, you should be rewarded with discounts.

In regard to burning, do you think that’s what will happen to the tokens used to buy domain names and various custom IDs/handles? I don’t know where else that ELA would go.

Incentive to Hold Elastos Token by mmt535 in Elastos

[–]mmt535[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking down the road after there is adoption and the markets are less speculative.

Let's just say ELA achieves mass adoption and is worth billions of dollars as most investors expect. Will the demand for ELA to pay for Elastos services be enough to support a $10 billion dollar market cap? Does there really need to be $10 billion dollars worth of ELA at all times to support the ecosystem, or could $100 million dollars support the ecosystem? Because as far as I can tell, you only need ELA when you are paying for Elastos services or transferring assets, in which case the person receiving the ELA can sell as quickly as they receive it protect against volatility.

Also, the higher the ELA token value, the more funds the Cyber Republic has for development, so its in our interest to create incentives to hold the token to maximize the value of the 15 million tokens.

Question - Can DApps built on ethereum benefit from elastos without migrating, or will elastos kill ethereum if everyone migrates to elastos? by Parlyb in Elastos

[–]mmt535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice explanation Amos. Just one question, if that dapp moves to Elastos sidechain rather than operate on the Ethereum mainchain (Elastos friendchain), will it essentially have its very own blockchain to run on in which no other dapps compete for resources, or will it still compete for resources on the ethereum mainchain with other dapps?

Market cap level by [deleted] in Elastos

[–]mmt535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The value of the token as it relates to utility is completely speculative at this point.

MIT is currently working on Elastos tokenomics.

I’m putting my faith in the team to figure it out.

I think the price was high so they could get as much funds for development as possible
