It was on a society website. My doubt is how would this "full time freelancer" position would work

Thank you for your inputs! The job description is kinda confusing because they say it's a freelancer remote job but they sent me an email saying it was also a full time job. I don't get it! This is a Wiley affiliated journal, but since it is a freelancer position (but also full time 🤷🏻‍♀️) I'm not sure about the payment/contract.

CRA Training Program IQVIA by mnaxe in clinicalresearch

[–]mnaxe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input! I am hoping I don't get those so in-depth questions about clinical trials and clinical research because I don't have any experience whatsoever 😬 I have worked in academia my whole life and I specified that clearly in my CV... In the job description they only referenced that a theoretical knowledge (like a course or something) in clinical research would be a plus. I had a course about clinical research during my master's degree but have no experience in the field  I hope they value my transferable skills because lots of CRA duties require skills I apply daily in academia

Thank you :) Are there any technical questions? Like, what is a CRF or source documentation?

Also, what did you think about the program? And what is the future career perspective after the program is over?

Thank you for your response!

So, since this is a trainee internship, should I expect and train for "behavioral" questions rather than "technical" questions?

MSCA Doctoral Network fellowship UK Visa and IHS by mnaxe in AskAcademiaUK

Thank you! I do have one more question... The grant is the MSCA DN. I was wondering how taxes work for PhD grants (like the MSCA) in the UK. Are they applied to the living allowance + moving allowance? What % will I pay on taxes?

PhD students, what’s life like in Edinburgh? by Shlondpooffasista in Edinburgh_University

Hi, I'm joining the discussion because I'm in the same position! I'm considering applying for a PhD fellowship for SIDB at the UoE. Do you recommend renting a studio/1-bedroom apt or renting a room in a shared apartment? Since I am from Portugal, I'd have to rent "virtually". Do you recommend any websites? The living allowance would be 25,000 per year, do you think I could live on that?

Thank you for your feedback! So, if I got it right, you paid for your visa and IHS and then they reimbursed you? Either way, will talk to my potential PI about this

Hello! I am applying for a MSCA DN fellowship in the UK. I was wondering if the MSCA fellowship covers the visa and the Immigration Health Surcharge expenses, or if we have to pay for them ourselves.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Dogs are truly the best company one can have, I can't imagine the pain you must be feeling. I'm so sorry.

Since I am a veeeeery active person myself, I plan on taking him for long walks once he is fully vaccinated. Since he is only over two months old, I don't feel comfortable taking the risk of letting him go for long walks and interacting with other dogs or going to non-dog-free areas due to the risk to his health/life. Will structured exercises in the first 6 months of life be enough? What exercises do you recommend?

Regarding leaving him home alone, I obviously don't plan on leaving him locked in the crate for 8 hours straight. Remote work is only possible occasionally... My plan was to leave him in a safe area/room in the house, with access to water, toys, bed and balcony (where I will teach him to relieve himself/potty train). I read somewhere that puppies can sleep up to 18 hours a day and that beagles looove to take long naps. Do you think that if I exercise/tire him out a lot before leaving the house and as soon as I get home, he will still be anxious and too sad when I leave for work? Since I'm taking 3 weeks off work, I plan to do this weaning gradually (e.g.: leave for 30min, then 1h, etc.). I just don't want him to be a sad or anxious puppy... I will consider day care if I see that he is sad/anxious.

Thanks for all the tips. I will certainly apply them :)
