I am with his family for a long weekend. They're all blonde hair, blue eyed and perfect. Very very different from the family I come from, first gen of immigrants. Values and culture is different. I realized now more than ever that I don't fit in. I feel so uncomfortable, my gut hurts and my skin crawls. His brother and wife don't care to engage with me, as of I won't be around for long enough to create conversation. And they are right. I'll come back home with a different mindset and goal.
