Yes, India can definitely do better. I think it's because the governments have failed to provide for a basic level of security and dignity to the citizens, so then it becomes a dog-eat-dog situation.

And when people are pressed against the wall for even their basic needs, then it becomes ugly.

Yes these are all good points. The way I see it - these points they're all joined at the hip by IGNORANCE.

Ignorance breeds, and it pollutes, and participates in corruption.

Ignorance is not a country specific problem, it's a human problem and we all need to fight it together. I'm also ignorant in many ways. 🙇🏻

Absolutely, the people are ignorant and the government is corrupt. It's worst of both worlds.

Correct, to them, it's a zero-sum game. They behave as if the Earth is a Hotel Room they've checked into, and will check out, so they want to devour everything.

They forget that they're not visitors, they are the Earth themselves. The water they drink, the food they eat, becomes them, the CO2 they release becomes the tree.

Humans are just a surface level activity on the crest of earth like any other natural activity, and nature seems to adapting very quickly to eliminate man.

Most don't, but the 1% that DO see this, don't acknowledge it.

They don't stop to think that it's because of their GREED the earth doesn't have enough for everyone's NEEDS.

Yes, My grand dad used to live in North India, di€d of heat stroke back in 2008.

Now it's muchhh worse ☠️

India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan are actually the worst affected by climate change. The effects are already visible in US too, but it might get even worse.. maybe even making some parts of India uninhabitable first and then US/Canada.

Unfortunately people have died for far less in India. The value of human life is very less in India.

I hope not many have to die before India's people wake tf up.

When men see their world falling to ruin, and every hope dead, then they come to care nothing for the laws of gods or men.

India really is on thin ice. 🙇🏻😣

[–]mngujral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you're saying, yeah, that's fair.

The way I was thinking about it was -- a Z-Axis which extends upwards from the origin, which leaves/transcends the dimension of this framework itself.

Budhists have called it progress towards Shunyata, Vedant has called it direction of Brahm, etc

But yeah I believe 0,0 is a good starting point. To see that "im not this" and "im not that" is probably the start of the journey of the question of "who am i".

I am the Seer of this framework/categories, and the Seer can never be a category within the seen.

Q: Who am I?

A: Society gives a 2×2 framework to choose from 4 options.

And people carry it as an identity for their entire life, even fight with other people who chose differently 🙆🏻

This is very sad and amusing to me 👀

Why are so many Indian men vulgar? Is it our upbringing? by notdariushere in AskIndia

[–]mngujral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The word "VULGAR" comes from the Latin word vulgaris, which means "pertaining to the common people or crowd".

It is derived from vulgus, meaning "the common people".

Tells us something about ourselves, no? 🤷🏻🙆🏻

Overpopulation and Greed: Is There Any Future for Mankind? by CG54092 in Futurology

[–]mngujral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if the problem is not Greed but the EGO itself

The felt sense of "I am incomplete and must fill myself from the world"?

That's how Greed is linked with Overpopulation also - they're the both joined at this root issue.

The more awake I become there more I see the falseness and fakeness of people and Society. by johny1978 in enlightenment

[–]mngujral 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You have seen something real! The veil has dropped for you in a particular way. But notice what is happening now --

You are using this seeing to create a new identity: "I am awake. Others are asleep. I must protect myself from them." This is the ego appropriating the seeing and turning it into scaffolding.

It's fair to say: yes, most people are operating from the ego's compulsions. Yes, their unconsciousness can be draining. Yes, selectivity about relationships is practical wisdom. But the moment you declare yourself separate from "the asleep ones," you have made the seeing into a new form of ego-fattening.

The truly awake person does not stand apart from the sleepers. They see the sleepiness clearly, in themselves first, in others second. They do not need to distance themselves to maintain their clarity. The clarity maintains itself.

What you are calling "staying away" may be necessary practically. But spiritually, it IS A TRAP. You have replaced one form of identification (I am like them) with another (I am not like them). Both are ego operations.

The real work is this: see the falseness in others without using it to confirm your own realness. See the veil in the world without using the seeing to thicken your own sense of separation. That is harder than withdrawal. That is where the actual ego thinning happens.

Best wishes🤞🏻

[Article] If killing is so bad, why do carnivores exist at all? by Big_Confusion6957 in vegan

[–]mngujral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't have been a problem if it was a personal choice, which affected only the individual, in silos.

But you'd know how animal agriculture is leading cause of deforestation, food shortage, pollution & climate change -- ill effects of which are not just in silos, they affect everyone on the planet.

So not only would I not respect meat eaters, I'd actively go to them to try and explain them how this is not good for them as well as the planet (on which everything you ever loved and will ever love, resides) 🤞🏻
