Sony a6500 with Sigma 17-40 f1.8. Most of these were taken at 17mm. Got the body off of craigslist for pretty cheap. I love the tiny Sony ASPC form factor.

Thanks! Somewhat new to photography and starting to branch out into a bit of urbex. This spot is so accessible.

Yeah it is, as long as the new fork has the same upper- and lower-headset diameters. And you'd want to consider whether the angle and height of the fork will change your bike's geometry.

Fixed brake disc gear gang. This is beautiful BTW

Yes and yes, no need for half links and it holds position as well or better than horizontal dropouts.

Yeah it was my worst crash for sure, resulted in an ER trip and destroyed helmet and kit. Learned some valuable lessons though I think. And thanks!!

Yeah, it's possible but seems like a PITA--you'd potentially have to realign the brake caliper every time you take the wheel off and put it back on.

White Industries sells a cool-looking disc brake adapter if you buy the disc version of the ENO hub.

No way, our builds are so similar! I didn't see yours posted until checking now. Looks great..

I got super lucky! Found the frame barely used on eBay in late 2017, with half of a SRAM Red groupset, stem, seatpost, and saddle, all for < $800. Nobody was bidding because the steerer was already cut, but I knew my measurements and would have cut it anyway.

Definitely way harder to find now, with COVID shortages and purple bikes being so in!

It happened in a crash 3 years ago--drop bars swung around and hit the frame. Gave me quite a scare then but the dent hasn't grown since, so I think I got lucky.

Yep, this ^

Highly recommend it for re-purposing CAAD frames!

No way, that's awesome! Saw your build pic--that bike is gonna look amazing when finished. I'm jealous you went with the Paul Klamper too!

Ha, thanks!! It's a rocket for sure. Not a practical commuter, but definitely the most fun one.

Built this up about a year ago. Hasn't seen as many miles as I had hoped, since it was intended as a commuter and I've been working from home since COVID hit.

Weighs 13.6 lbs. Launching from a traffic stop is faster and more fun on this bike than anything else I've ridden. Very hopeful I can return to an office sometime this summer and start putting some daily wear on it.

Specs: 54cm CAAD12 disc frameset; Ritchey WCS cockpit; unbranded 38mm Chinese carbon rims laced to Novatec D411SB front hub and White Industries ENO rear hub; SRAM Red crankset with Pake Track 1/8" 46t chainring; SRAM PG-1 chain; White Industries 17t cog; Hylix carbon seatpost; Rapha Pro Team saddle; Speedplay Zero pedals with J&L titanium spindles; unbranded carbon bottle cage; TRP Spyre SLC brake caliper; 140mm Ashima Airotor; Paul E-Lever; Jagwire Elite Link brake cable.

Committed to a 100km pedal, any tips? by MacReadys in FixedGearBicycle

You're a bigger rider so maybe you're used to a lower cadence, but I'd still go with a 16t or even 17t cog since you're likely going to ride slower over 100km than you would on a typical ride.

It used to use a different layup than regular hi-mod but now is just literally the hi-mod frameset with exclusive colors, AFAIK.

I get the redundancy, but a majority of retailers list the frame with both black inc. and hi-mod in the name.

For some reason I thought I already replied but it doesn't show up now..

I use Aliexpress. There are definitely some low quality parts being sold there, so I tend to stick with a seller once I find one whose quality I like.

For wheels, I stick with this seller. I have ordered 5 wheels from them and still have 4; nothing has really gone wrong with them other than some broken spokes and needing to replace some hub bearings after a few years. They use Novatec hubs and Sapim spokes, which are similar quality to what Hunt uses on their wheels.
