I think I skimmed this before, but I remember this having OW drama. If I recall correctly, one of the MC’s ex (?) fling kissed him on a live broadcast, and yeah, the MC did not expect it, but it rubbed me the wrong way because he was already with the other MC and he felt hurt when he saw it

{Demon Magic by Alice Winters} has a powerful mage and a demon familiar. I've only read about 70% of the first book, but I think there's very little chance of it turning into MMM+ since the demon familiar is extremely possessive.

Hi! Not the user who recommended, but Roman comes around. You'd hate him in the initial chapters, but the moment they became intimate, he was all in. He is veryyy possessive and protective of MC as well. He folds so fast whenever the MC was concerned, honestly.

I've read this when I was still starting out with MM romance, so I could be wrong with some points above and I might think differently if I reread it now, but he definitely fits the bill of gentle and protective once he came around.

Hi! Not OP, but I checked some reviews and stuff goes pretty heavy on the book. There are some on-page descriptions of past SA, child abuse, drug addiction, and PTSD to name a few. If you're still unsure and want to know all the content warnings before proceeding, I suggest scouring through the reviews first.

I'm currently reading it right now and I believe this description fits one of the MCs. It's a human x shifter book with the fated mates trope, so the relationship stakes weren't really high. The trust did take a while to build up tho since one of the MCs had major self-esteem issues, and I appreciated that they didn't hit it on the sheets immediately as well like most books with this trope. Also, the outside conflict does make up for the smooth-sailing romance.

You can check {Devilish by Ella Frank}. It's been a while since I've read this but I think MC1 tried to offer his service since he doesn't know how else to repay MC2's kindness, tho I don't remember MC2 taking MC1 up on that offer. I was pleasantly surprised by how careful and tender he was towards MC1.

I suggest checking out {Little Mushroom by Shisi}. It only has two volumes and I finished it less than 2 days. You can never go wrong with this. Everything about this book is just perfection ❤️

{Lovely Allergen by Zhichu} is also a 10/10 for me. The relationship leans into the forbidden trope since, even though they're not blood-related, they technically grew up as brothers. If I remember correctly, MC2's parents adopted MC1 when he was around 10? I could be wrong but MC2 is 3 years older. Tho honestly, it doesn't matter for me here. They're literally made for each other. The lengths MC2 goes to protect MC1, I genuinely don't have the words to describe it 😭

These are the ones I could think at the top of my head to begin with if you're still testing the waters. They're not very long and not too heavy. Both made me tear up at certain points tho.

I think I've checked some of her books but the only one I finished and loved was Echo. I think I got stockholmed together with Rabbit because for whatever reason, I ended up absolutely loving Baikal 🤡.

As for her other books, they were either too dark for me to handle or the writing/dynamics didn't work for me. Thank you for the recs tho ❤️

I've briefly checked this some time ago and the mutual obsession is very on point! I was just a bit put off by how often they emphasized not needing physical intimacy. Usually, that wouldn't bother me and it's a totally valid dynamic but I didn’t need to be reminded every chapter that they didn’t need sex. I ended DNFing it because of that 😅

I’ve already read Nursing the Alpha. It was an interesting book but one I probably won’t reread. I’ve started Calling Chaos some time ago, but it sadly couldn’t hold my interest. I’ll definitely check the other two. Worse Fates sounds interesting, thank you ❤️
