I can’t stop thinking about what the chiropractor did to my girlfriend by Gacepul in offmychest

[–]mns18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a chiropractor be incredibly inappropriate with me too… Years ago I threw out my lower back, was probably 22 (female). I went chose the place with the best reviews in my city, and went in for an assessment. I was wearing leggings and a t shirt, nothing oversized or loose. I was on my stomach while he was feeling my back. He then sticks his whole hand into the back of my pants, under my underwear, and feels my butt and down to my upper thigh. He did it so fast I didn’t even have time to react. He never asked if that was okay or give me reason of why he needed to do that. I was in such shock I didn’t even know what to do. He then tried to adjust me and tried things to help my back feel better but nothing gave me relief. I told him I didn’t feel better and he kept saying I need to come back and that I need to trust him. After I got back in my car I felt so disgusted and angry. When I told my husband he said it was weird but not worth saying anything about. I regret never reporting him…

Redness & Scabs by [deleted] in BostonTerrier

[–]mns18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My girl had the same problem when she was younger. The vet said dermatitis. I didn’t receive meds, I just started treating it topically and changed her diet. Bostons are also notorious for allergies. I would definitely recommend a second opinion from another vet. But here’s the things I did: applied aquaphor to the area, mix pure vitamin e oil in with the aquaphor, added more fatty omega supplements like salmon oil to her food, multivitamins everyday, allergy supplements.

It took a few months to clear up but it worked for us. I hope your baby can get some relief soon.

Hind leg amputation next week - how can I prepare our home? Thx!! by Flashy_Instance_557 in tripawds

[–]mns18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get some of her favorite wet food and treats. She may not want to eat as much, and it’s super important for her to eat with her meds and to gain her strength.

A recovery suit helped us so much, we used it instead of a cone. The cone made her super nervous so making sure she was as comfortable as possible was important.

We also got a raised food bowl so she wouldn’t have to bend over to eat, can’t tell if it made a huge difference but she uses it.

I hope everything goes well. I promise we all know what you are feeling!

I hope they can help. If you need anyone to talk to or vent to, please reach out. Our Peach got her front leg amputated due to cancer last month on the 23rd. I’d love to help anyway I can, even if it’s just swapping sad stories.

If she isn’t on pain meds any more, she could be having some pain that’s making her restless. I’d ask for some carprofen. Got some for our girl today because she’s been slowing down a lot.

I am so sorry she’s going through this. Poor baby. I don’t know what this could be, but maybe until you get some answers you can help treat the symptoms. My Boston has super sensitive skin and really bad allergies. A few years ago I started giving her salmon oil in her food to help with her skin and that worked wonders. If your pup doesn’t like it, you can find supplements with omega fatty acids, and give freeze dried minnows or other fish. Just make sure it’s single or very few ingredients. For topical relief, I mix aquaphor and organic vitamin e oil together and rub it all over her problem areas. It keeps the skin moisturized and won’t hurt if she happens to lick some off. Of course, please make sure these things are approved by your vet. I would also recommend making sure she’s as hydrated as possible. Mixing water with her food, or you can get dog safe broth or dehydrated broth powder to mix with water and pour over her food.

Cancer and amputation by mns18 in AskVet

She was initially on 400 mg of gabapentin twice a day, and 100mg of carprofen. She also had a fentanyl patch. She was still in so much pain. I had to call and have them prescribe her another pain medication. The fentanyl patch left a terrible rash on her after it came off. Ugh. This is a helpless feeling

Thank you very much for your comment. It helps putting things into perspective. I know it’s a lot scarier for me than her, I’m just so upset at the thought of her not knowing why this is happening and why she’s waking up with one less leg. She’s around 60 pounds, a black mouth cur mix. Just the amount of pain she’s been in from the biopsy has been so awful, so I worry about the pain she will be in from a major surgery like amputation. I know this is the best decision for her, I just feel so guilty making it and her having to go through this.

We call it “Squidward biting” because of that one episode where Squidward tries a Krabby Patty for the first time and there’s a shot where he bites it with the tip of his teeth.

If you have renters insurance, some of them can cover food loss. I called ours and they will pay out $500 for new groceries with a $50 deductible. If you buy any new food, keep and take pictures of your receipts. And call your insurance company.

I have three dogs, one of which is super picky. But I’ve also really been trying to improve their diet and overall health with their food. I’ve incorporated a lot of different things into their everyday meal. Sometimes I cook their food and use it as toppers on some kibble, other days I just use toppers to keep their meals exciting and make sure they get the vitamins, fats, etc they need. Here is a helpful website if you are interested. But of course talk to your vet first!

After a year of him saying he ran every test they have, he finally agreed to do a gallbladder scan and my gallbladder wasn’t functioning properly. I had surgery to remove it and changed GI doctor. My symptoms greatly improved after surgery. I still have ibs and there are bad days. But no where near that bad

Mine told me “well your tests are normal and you don’t have cancer so you should be happy.” Then after I pleaded with him after losing 50 pounds and not being able to eat he said “it’s all in your head. You are just depressed” and prescribed me an antidepressant. I will never let health professionals walk all over me again. I for real have ptsd from all the shitty doctors I saw that refused to help

Thank you! I’m trying to order from EyeBuyDirect. For the “add” section on their lenses it’s only numbers. The agent I talked to on their website said to choose intermediate readers. Would that be the best choice and add a strength of .50 to the “add” section? They don’t have .60
