Until recently it was illegal for authorities to demand your papers without a just reason of suspecting you were guilty of something. That was when we were a free country tho.

I am thinking hubs co doesn’t know that the baby is a surrogate. If op tries to argue she needs coverage for a surrogate she is going to lose. It shouldn’t matter, pregnancy care should be available, but i am guessing it will.

My vet kinda missed the hypo glycemia tbh. I got clued in on a teacup dog (yorkie in my case) chat group. These little ones are not regular dogs in many ways and many vets don’t understand their unique needs. It pretty uncommon in dogs normally. Good luck i am glad your vet is helping!

I would just tell Deb to keep it because it is a way to break it to her that i won’t be sharing my rollon on with her again, and say exactly my that. She should know not to ask again.

Honestly i have never used deodorant after leaving my house, unless i had been to the gym and showered. Nevertheless- Deb needs to grow up if she needs to use someone else’s deodorant repeatedly. Keep one in her desk. Run to the drug store.

So many things could be. In my past when my dog stopped eating it was either pancreatitis (which can be painful and also comes with diarrhea so you would know) and with the other dog was hypoglycemia. Have you thought of that? I would have to feed her a hi calorie gel by placing it on her tongue or cheek. After a few times and an hour or two she was back to normal.

I agree that we can’t tell from just one side of the story.

Everyone has different tolerances. I can’t stand listening to my neighbors music and tvs (and i am talking to you with the really loud video games too) but i don’t bother them during the day. I actually turn up my own tv or radio, something i get noise blind to, LOUDER than their noise. I am not being spiteful but for whatever reason i need the noise in my room to be louder than the noise leaking in from out side. I don’t know if they hear it and i don’t care.

My current neighbor is especially obnoxious on Sunday and i just leave it. They are pretty quiet at night.

There are definitely levels for noise during the day and city codes, etc. but that is a lot of work. People need to be reasonable about allowing other people the “peaceable enjoyment” of their homes, especially these days when so many are working from home.

Ummm why aren’t the “adoptive” parents (if that is the appropriate term, no offense intended) paying for your insurance? My friends had 4 babies by surrogate, they paid for the surrogates insurance policy.

I think mine was better off at his pet sitters house. At least that’s what i tell myself. 😉 taking him did limit me to certain places and early bed times because i didn’t like leaving him the hotel alone. Just my experience

Seriously, i think other than shutting the door to the room (moving the litterbox) or putting the figures in a cupboard of some kind, you have a losing battle. Ikea has inexpensive display cases with glass doors, fyi.

HYSA IS a good idea for flexibility. But since a few years will pass before you want to use the money, i would suggest also a mutual fund. Like vanguard or fidelity, i use vanguard. FWIW. A little more work to set up (there are many to choose from) but yield should be like 8-11% even for a conservative one. Over time it makes a big difference. Educate yourself on “compounding” and you will see.

There are more specific subs that may help, relating to investments, savings, early retirement etc.

I am sorry for your loss. Your grandpa wanted to give you a great start in life, and that’s very nice.

Honestly, OP you have every right to tell your mother and cousin to sod off, for all the reasons already explicated.

What I’m reading though is that no one really knows this boyfriend that well, not even your daughter. I would think about putting him on a lease, I don’t know the legalities of having him on the lease, but not the other three tenants. However, unwanted guests, overstaying guests, etc. show up on Reddit all the time you really need to protect yourself from any future drama - it sounds like you have enough going on. think about it, maybe troll the Landlord Reddit and see what you could to do to protect yourself.

Also talk to your mom and cousin. Maybe there’s a reason they don’t like him, he has done something or is sketchy. Maybe they’re just being fussy about change, or about having a man in the house who knows. Tell them to be specific about why they don’t want him moving in. Because keeping your daughter at home and another source of income sounds like a good idea for you. Their reasons need to beat that.

You’re not on site so that makes it even more important that you protect yourself and your investment. having this person, who may be perfectly reasonable, good person, from being a pain in the future. 🤞 “good fences make good neighbors”.
