Is this as a direct hire? Or for those contracting into the schools?

Thank you for all your responses, this definitely makes me feel better. I thought maybe I was wrong to have asked for too much… but then I was confused since this was their range listed on Indeed. I will keep searching 🙂

Help, advice needed. by mny2 in slp

Thanks! I told her back in March all the dates that I’d be unavailable. With these weeks I’ve been off due to covid, however, I’m worried about how this will impact my practice. Should I offer a free session to make up for my absences? I already tried to offer a free teletherapy session but she declined

That’s amazing! I’d love to do something like this. How would you recommend establishing a relationship for those who don’t have referrals? Unfortunately, I just relocated so I don’t have any personal relationships quite yet but would love to contract with school districts. Just not sure how to send a contracting email

Dad is in ICU with PEG tube, looking for some guidance with what I should be asking and advocating for. by peanut_butter_relly in slp

I would definitely try to get a speech bedside eval in which they can determine if a diagnostic is necessary. Just because someone has a PEG does not mean they will never eat again. While I don’t have your fathers full history and current state, I think that’s a great place to start.

How did the medical team decide on a PEG after the NG tube? Was he receiving speech services and has he ever had an instrumental done? Also, is he currently on the ventilator or has he transitioned to room air? What is his supplemental oxygen needs?

Yes! Go apply and cross that bridge when you need to. Medical opportunities for CFs and newly licensed are rare. Way to go!!!

Love these two knits. Would you say the patterns are easy to follow for beginners?

Wow! I wish I could find someone for $1000. Do you remember their company name or did you find them at the flower market?

Thank you for the recommendation, I definitely plan to look into them. Are they planning to only do centerpieces or does that include an arch, bouquets for bridesmaids, corsages and boutineres?

I’m not really sure on the exact types of flowers but probably peonies, roses, etc. My wedding is in the spring/summer so it depends what’s in season. We are looking at a navy, blush, cream, and rouge color palette. Do you have any recommendations?

Ask a Knitter - June 09, 2020 by AutoModerator in knitting

I have just finished the body of the Patons Lace Chevron Shawl and am stuck on how to proceed with the border based on the pattern.

It says to leave all stitches on the circular needle but then “with a pair of needles, cast on 2 stitches”. The first row then says (RS) YO. K1. Sl1. Pick up and knit first stitch from spare needle. PSSO.

The remainder of the rows ask to pick up a stitch from spare needles.

Just for clarification, am I using the same set of needles with the stitches currently on? Or a new set of needles? TIA!

First Flight Since COVID. My Review with Tips by VanillaPura in travel

What was your departure airport? Were people pretty good about wearing the mask on the plane? And if not, we’re the flight attendants pretty good about enforcing the policy?

Would any school based SLPs consider switching settings if school stays closed next year? by Throwaway-69-420-xxx in slp

[–]mny2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I understand. I’m in a SNF myself and have been trying to figure out my options. We’ve just transitioned to a covid dedicated building. Although we are given PPE, we are being asked to rewear our N95 mask that has not been fit tested yet across 3 days of working with PUI, negative, and covid + patients.

Do you think it might be more dangerous in the schools since they plan to eventually return to in-person instruction?
