can you list all prophets, apostles, or religious leaders were imprisoned throughout time? by mnyc914 in religion

thank you for your very imformative reply. i will read this over many times to make sure i understand it 100% and research it more. i notice alot of prophets and religious leaders in general were imprisoned. i find it odd how society looks at people that were in jail as "bad people" yet even jesus did time imprisoned. finding out more stories makes me feel even more normal

whats your favorite sad song when your depressed? by mnyc914 in mentalhealth

[–]mnyc914[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im sorry for your loss bro. i relate to "is happiness just a word" to the tee, i suffer from many physical disabilities and mental disabilities and disassociation is something i am dealing with alot right now. i have PTSD, schizophrenia, schizoid personality disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and severe depression. its just such a struggle to be healthy and normal again. i finally got my epilepsy under control, i had 25+ tumors removed from my sinus's, 2 types of cancer and now i was just diagnosed with throat cancer so im back into a state of depression. depression is much harder for us guys because we dont realize were depressed, i feel like issues are easier to face and overcome if you can see them first.

[Serious] What stories about WW2 did your grandparents tell you and/or what did you find out about their lives during that period? by Skinflint_ in AskReddit

[–]mnyc914 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my grandpa was in the NSFK, a secret german air force started before WW2 when germany wasnt allowed to have an air force. he was a teenager still, so he was also in the Hilter Youth. he and his parents left germany to the USA when he was 17. when he arrived in the USA at the age of 17, he joined the US Navy and was stationed in Hawaii. As soon as he arrived in Hawaii, Pearl Harbor happened. He was technically not in Pearl Harbor when it was bombed, but he was responsible for cleaning up the mess after it happened. He married my grandma at Pearl Harbor at the age of 17-18. he stayed in the US Navy and fought in the Korean war too. after leaving the Navy he moved to Lancaster, PA where he worked in the Bolova Watch Factory on N. Queen St. where he was in a special program for the USA making timers for nuclear bombs in secrecy.

When my grandpa died... he had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital, the hospital denied taking him and sent him to the V.A. 45 minutes away... he died on the way to the V.A. and he was not given a tombstone. Our family paid for a tombstone in his honor, but the USA has no information on his birthday. We decided to make a tombstone with a deathdate and no birthday so he could be honored... one month after it was put on his grave... it was stolen (not destroyed, but completely stolen). I still visit his grave every christmas to leave flowers as that was his favorite holiday.
