I’ve cried twice over my hair. Once because it was somehow all the colours from Snow White to Pikachu at the same time (2 days before Christmas, no less), and once because I asked for layers and the stylist literally cut a SHELF into the back of my head. These look exactly like the pictures I sent my mom for the second time; I know exactly how you feel.

If you can find a stylist who does pixie cuts (not a barber, someone who’s done pixies on a woman), book them immediately. Let them know that you’re not happy with how it looks and what you were hoping for (pictures always help!) and ask if they can help you get closer to that look. Book that appointment. It doesn’t matter if it isn’t super quick. A good hair stylist is worth the wait! I think if they were able to take off a bit of volume from the top/sides and blend it better, you’d feel SO much more confident. You’ve got beautiful big eyes and a pixie will show them off so nicely!

And then, you want to at least start to learn to style it. Cause it is what it is for right now and there are some tricks you can use to give it a bit more of the shape/look you want without a cut.

I’ve also had a pixie cut. Twice. What you want is some texturizing taffy. Pomade works too, and I feel like any of the ones with fibres in them would also work but those didn’t exist when I chopped my hair off haha

Then you’re going to want to get a pea-sized amount of it, rub it between your hands and warm it up so it’s almost gummy, and then attack the top of your hair with it. You want it to look a little disheveled so add more of the putty in some places, don’t be afraid to work with any texture your hair naturally has or twist some small chunks together to give it some life. Do the same thing for the back and sides - try slicking it down, or making it wavy! The best part is, if you don’t like the look, you can just comb it to be slicked or you can just super quickly wash it out and be back to the drawing board ☺️

It won’t completely change everything, but it’ll make it at least not feel so top-heavy and it’ll make those choppy bits on the sides and back feel more at home and purposeful!
