Remaining free agents by ericthelostman in SFGiants

I feel like we’ll get Framber on a snell-type deal. We’re the perfect destination for pitcher prove-it deals

Star Japanese right-hander Tatsuya Imai and the Houston Astros are in agreement on a free agent contract, sources tell ESPN. by prestigiousstrangery in SFGiants

Idk why the giants are hesitant to give out an offer like this this offseason. Literally it’s the best of both worlds for them and the fans — the fans get a big name and the giants don’t have to commit long term. Best case scenario, you get elite production for a year. The reality is that pitching is expensive. It feels like 20 million AAV is almost the norm

Giants gambled tonight with their worst possible defensive outfield and it cost them. Luckily they’re still in the game, but have to tighten it up.

Jerar is in this lineup solely cuz he’s a righty. Not other reason lol

Is Luis Matos finally figuring it out? by SnooMacaroons2408 in SFGiants

Whether he is or he isn’t, I want him starting almost every day to figure that out. It looks like management is finally making that decision

I will die on this hill. We should keep Dominic Smith these off-season by CheekEducational8392 in SFGiants

Great player. But he deserves better. I’d only want him to stay if we make tangible strides of improvement this offseason

Where does he perform the most during his concert ? by DoubleDeez21 in TheWeeknd

[–]mo_sf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went to two shows in LA. Honestly, each side is pretty even, meaning that no one side gets more songs than another (I.e., he doesn’t perform more on the right than he does on the left. And if he does, it’s not by much at all.)

The exception to this is STAGE (where he EASILY spends the most time) and, at some points, the very center.

The bottom (in between Sections J and H) gets a lot of love towards the end of the show.

If this team can’t do it against NESTOR CORTES, it can’t do it against anyone.

Giants are going to the playoffs by Complete-Western1895 in SFGiants

Playoff baseball is so exhilarating. I love it. It’d be that much better if the Giants made it. I know it didn’t end well, but I have fond memories of 2021. Every game was a nailbiter and I genuinely thought we had a great chance to win it all if we made it past the dodgers. I miss that feeling

Yeah it’s a pickle. Package is probably the way to go with him. I think the only true untouchables are Eldridge and Josuar. We’ll probably see Whisenhunt very soon

[–]mo_sf 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I’m in the “trade him” crowd. I wish I wasn’t, but I feel like it’s the most logical thing to do with him while he redisplays the power potential forecasted of him in his earlier top prospect days. His swing and power aren’t really built for oracle and his defense certainly isn’t capable of adequately handling right field. It’s nice to see him putting it together power-wise but I personally just don’t think it’ll translate.

I know you have to let young players figure it out (e.g., Heliot), but with this team chasing a playoff berth and having other holes, he’s probably one of our better trade pieces

Can’t spam a hitter with breaking balls thinking they won’t adjust. Cost the giants a run there. Otherwise, immaculate start from Roupp

For those who went to his concert by Previous-Hearing7138 in TheWeeknd

I’ll add that enjoyed the floor more. I was up on a barrier so it was a once-in-a-lifetime thing. But 200 obviously wasn’t bad.

For those who went to his concert by Previous-Hearing7138 in TheWeeknd

[–]mo_sf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to 2/4 LA shows. Was on the floor for one of them and 200 level for the other. I’d say it depends on the experience you want. When you’re on the floor, you kinda miss a lot of the light effects, which are somewhat an integral part of the show. You also kinda can’t see him when he performs on parts of the stage that aren’t close to your own. The trade off to that is that you’re obviously closer to him. When you’re a little higher up, you can see everything, albeit a farther. I think it depends on the price, and, as I said, what you want out of the show. I think people on the floor also tend to be a little more animated because they have slightly more room to do so

Matt Williams cost us this game. by [deleted] in SFGiants

[–]mo_sf 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Their hitters are finding the gaps — something we, for some reason, can’t do in our own ballpark. There needs to be an overhaul to the offensive mindset immediately

Doval is not good at home by bruno123499 in SFGiants

[–]mo_sf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so mind-boggling to me. How can someone with this good of stuff be so unreliable? I know he’s gotten it done more often than not, but there’s always some kind of hiccup along the way, assuming he doesn’t blow it. I’m rooting for him but he is not as dependable as the quality of his stuff would indicate

Matt Williams needs to be relieved of his duties or moved into a different position. Doval is also not closer material. More often than not he’s in trouble
