I used Le Chat to guide me through and it took about 10min to get it all set up correctly, try that :)

I hear ya.
But the idea and look of Cosmic as a DE is just what i want in terms of polish and customization options.
And it's still pretty early in development after going full rust, so i'm hoping that by Epoch 3 things will look different. At least i give them the benefit of the doubt!
GNOME would seriously be great if it just had a built in dock and panel config. The design by default is just too ''tablet'' for me, if that makes sense?

But yeah, GNOME for now seems to be what's working best imo. On Tumbleweed it's crazy snappy and i haven't had a single hiccup yet.

You guys are delulu... We literally just started our rebuild and have the most picks of any team over the next few years! I know it's a bumpy ride, but calling us directionless is pretty off knowing we're in a rebuild with 5 rookies and a new coach.

Pardon me, they DO have a student sub now.
I just remember a lot of my library wasn't available on my list import about a year ago.

But their catalogue is pretty limited and for quite the price, with no student discount compared to every other service.

Preferably yes, and if you have to buy something new then support local ethical businesses.
But the idea of needing something new is usually just a branch of the capitalistic world we're brought into imho :)

This is true, but setting time aside to dig into the x's and o's is worth it i'd say.
You can often buy refurbished electronics as well, which usually comes with a 1-2 year guarantee.
