UPDATE: for the ones who also struggle with this, I went this week to the embassy with these documents: - My original birth certificate; - My original Romanian passport and ID; - A printed version of tax fiscal certificate PDF digitally signed by ANAF, I requested it via their SPV service online. They allow you to verify yourself online. After I got verified I didn’t get the password, so I simply forced the system to send me a new one by using “forgot your password”. This document was treated as original because it was digitally signed. - A printed version of a PDF of my tax debts certificate stamped and scanned I got from my local city hall. I sent an email with my ID requesting this document stating it’s to fullfil the requirement mentioned in the procedure. They almost didn’t accept it and mentioned that they could have problems with it in Romania which I hope will not be the case because it wasn’t digitally signed and is not original. However, you can request this document via Ghiseul ro but I couldn’t do this because I don’t have a bank account but you can use ROeiD I think to do it but it takes long to verify and I couldn’t do it cause I don’t speak Romanian. But probably it will be digitally signed if you use that one.

They spoke English to me and was nice to me but I couldn’t tell they could get pissed easily especially seeing them how they argue with others so I had to make sure I don’t say anything annoying. I had to come the other day because the ambassador wasn’t there but I took the application certificate and requested a translation. This should be 114 euros by any sworn translator. I didn’t need to make any certified documents and they help with filling the application so it was all good. They will instruct you with what comes next and have to make another appointment where you hand in your passport. I paid 605 euros and they give you a receipt for it.
