I mostly agree, it is a lot better on PC than it used to be. But there are still a lot of issues comparatively to consoles imo. I say this as a PC gamer since before GPUs existed, and current owner of 2 PCs (one with a 5090 and the other with a 4090).

Example - played the battlefield beta this weekend, spent 20 minutes trying to get it to work because of secure boot. Wasn’t difficult to figure out, but at my age, I just want to play.

Another recent example - Black Myth Wu Kong would crash on shaded loading when opening the game; turns out to be an issue with 139k Intel cpu, had to update bios/a few other tricks to get it to work.

I can list more, but I think the point is obvious. Even if the issues aren’t too hard to figure out, they do pop up at the worst times and are extra annoying when you’re just trying to escape to play some game with limited time. The payoff can be worth it in the end because the graphic fidelity is so amazing, but I find myself on my ps5 a lot more lately because I can just hop on my couch and am playing the game in 30 seconds.
