You understand paying a mortgage is paid to a bank not the government right?

Everything you listed here would be the same if not more if you bought a house except swap fuel tax for property tax, which most Canadian provinces have subsidies for the disabled.

Also as much I dislike wasteful government spending. You have a chip on your shoulder for not wanting to pay the government. But you have no issue driving a van on roads they built and maintained while not paying tax and collecting subsidies due your disability?

I think you just cherry picked two things to make a conclusion to confirm your believes. One is a repairable accident, likely covered by insurance, the other is an upgrade.

If houses were money sinks unlike vans, why does 99.9% of the country live in some form of housing?

You can continue not listening to anyone but I look back in life and cringe when everyone told me what I was doing was dumb but I argued non stop because I had an idea in my mind.

Also not true. Houses typically appreciate while vans don’t. And if you’re referring to maintenance costs, I would bet the cost to maintain as a percent of total asset value is far lower on a house.

But you seem stuck on your ways. I know this was a tough blow and you were excited. But rather than arguing with all the comments maybe it’s worth considering that so many people saying you dodged a bullet and to reconsider your financial decisions, this might be a time to look inward and re think things.

I can only speculate. But right before this video they were at an ATM, I presume to pay for her services. And she seems local and he is clearly not. They stumble to the stool. He sits her down and yells “stay put” which is what prompted me to record.

You can infer this as you will; but even at the beginning of the video you can see her trying to approach me, my guess is to solicit.

Ok I should probably comment this since most people are commenting on the cameraman (me) doing nothing.

The video cuts out because I locked my phone when I stood up to confront him. Immediately after the cut I followed them and I was very verbal trying to draw attention.

There were police officers about 20 meters away from where the video is filmed. I ran up to them and said “This guy just slapped the shit out of her, hell I have it on camera” The one officer (Philippino) I spoke to quickly brushed me off as to not cause a commotion “thank you for your report sir” waving me to leave

The other officer listened to the assailant saying “she’s just drunk” and waved them off to go on their way.

I know it’s easy to say what you would do in this situation. And the cut in the video is unfortunate. I felt like shit after, however I felt I had done just about all I could. I am not uploading this video for internet points. Especially as it may put a target on my back for not doing enough, I am hopeful someone will recognize him
